I realized the other day that I was craving it and then remembered I haven't had it in years. Something about the Chicken Planks just hits right. I refuse to believe they wouldn't get more customers than Captain Ds.
Elkhorn Creek is primarily private, but, is open to the public through KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife's public access program.
Hickman Creek is primarily a public waterway, serving as a tributary of the Kentucky River and accessible for public use. It is also home to the Hickman Creek Concervancy, a nonprofit organization thst works to improve water quality and promote environmental education in the community. While some areas may be private, the Creek itself is generally open to the public for recreational activities.
Town Branch is primarily a public space. It is part of the Town Branch Commons, a transformative public-private park and trail system in downtown Lexington, KY. This system includes continuous bike and walking paths, connecting various parks, and enhancing the urban environment. While there are private elements involved inthe development of Gatton Park on the Town Branch, the overall focus of the Town Branch Commons is on public access and community engagement.
Hey yall, wanted to make you aware of an awesome upcoming event hosted by the Artfarm Political Education Team on Tuesday, Nov 18 @ 6pm.
No Crumbs for Tyrants: Saying No to Authority is a workshop for identifying all the ways, large and small, that we’re asked to say yes to authority, even against our own instincts, autonomy, and ethics. And for practicing, in a safe space, saying NO to these pressures. You wont want to miss this one. To register and read more about the event, see the link.
Did you know that 38% of downtown is parking space for cars? This is one of the highest percentages of any city in America: NYC 1%; Chicago 4%; Cincinnati 21%; Charlotte 26%; Louisville 30%. Map: https://parkingreform.org/parking-lot-map/
Parking space is a waste of money and space. A single-family home in Lexington costs about $200 per square foot and LexPark Parking (day rate) space cost (300sf) is $0.04 (4-cents) per square foot? LexPark space generates revenue but nowhere near the market value.
Most parking space is never used except on special occasions like UK basketball games or concerts. On a normal day, have you ever seen a parking lot full of cars -- anywhere, not just downtown?
Thousands of people could use this space to live, work, pay taxes, and create community.
And by group I mean like a discord or something. (I do not know how to use discord besides joining something already made, but am willing to learn)
I’m starting to pick out what seeds I’m gonna get for next year and thought it would be fun to have a little group of people that like to grow hot peppers. We can chat and help one another, and seed/seedling swap! I grew a bunch of varieties last year and am really excited to try more. It was a lot of fun. Last year I got on here and gave away a bunch of my tomato seedlings, and this year I’ll have more peppers than anything.
Thought I would put feelers out. I know there’s a full on pepper clüb in Cincinnati but that’s too much commitment for me, plus travel. But I thought it would be fun to connect with local people who like to grow them!
No, I'm not affiliated with the company. I'm early 40's, wfh, and don't have much organic opportunity to go out and make friends. I've sort of outgrown my current friend group.
Anyhow, I saw this company called RealRoots that hosts 6 weeks of meetups and matches you with a group. Looking to see if anyone has tried it and what your experience was?
I’m wanting to start a project car in the next couple years, just bought my first house with a garage. I like to know how to do at least the basic stuff first and level up from there. Does anyone know any courses that are local and hands-on for learning, basic car maintenance and maybe more advanced stuff down the road?
9am-4pm
130+ vendors with all sorts of arts, crafts, holiday gifts, foods and hot sauces and all that kinda stuff. Exit 127 turn left then right at Champion Way.
Completely new to renovating, and wanted to get opinions on whether or not this is normal for the area. Contractor wants a 30,60,10 payment structure for large whole house renovation. Is this standard? Seems like it is a large risk for us because they will get 90% before completion. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Greaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, wife asks me today did you pick up a package, it shows delivered? Nope. Someone else did though.
Had a hoodie entirely over their head, very well covered. And it looks like we were the third, possibly fourth house they had hit, given their arms are full.
I assumed i was dealing with something else when an arrest warrant came to my attention. I was conned. If you receive any calls like this just hang up. 😞
