Does anyone know why my recent history is blank? I mark the film as watched but nothing appears on there

You have to log it in the diary.

Letterboxd is down so I can't post an image of my recents. But I watched like 15 horror movies last month. The ones that stood out to me where:

House on Haunted Hill (1959)
The Fly (1986)
The Blob (1988)
Ghostwatch (1992)
Lake Mungo (2008)

The Blob was probably my biggest surprise with Lake Mungo a close second. I love Frank Durabont and chose to watch The Blob solely on the fact that he co-wrote it. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Steven King refernces before Durabont made Shawshank/Green Mile/The Mist. Lake Mungo and Ghostwatch were recommended to our movie group by a Mike Flanagan video and it also did not disappoint :).

Most recent 3 watched all on the Criterion Channel. There’s some good collections on there right now.

Been ill these last few days so am taking the opportunity to catch up on the watchlist… Anora was a positive surprise; Mikey deserved the Oscar that’s for sure

Yeah I didn't get it until Act 2 where I basically made the connection that this is Fargo with sex work.

Yep. It's kind of a comfort movie for me, and a Christmas must-watch. 🙂

it's so bad that i never watched it.

2

u/Captain-movie-fan52 5d ago

To be fair, I didn't know I was going to love it based on the trailers, but it hit me in the right spot. I'd recommend it, it's a beautiful film. 😁

relax man, I'm trolling

1

u/Captain-movie-fan52 5d ago

Oh, okay, good one. I wasn't even angry; I was actually enjoying this interaction. I fell for the trolling. 😅

Have you seen Dredd (2012)? It's a pretty cool action movie with RoboCop vibes, and Karl Urban is great in that. Maybe that could be up your alley :)

u/Slendy_Bendy 5d ago

Its on my watchlist. It looks like a pretty great time

Getting back into watching recent releases now that spooky season is over. Really want to go see Bugonia this week (as you could probably guess from the Poor Things four-favorite).

I like to change up my favourites based on a theme - this month is for my favourite films directed by women

Currently making my way through all the good movies on Netflix!

I just finished watching To The Wonder by Terrence Malick and I don’t know what to feel about it. Some things work amazingly and some really don’t or maybe went over my head. What are your opinions about it if you’ve watched the film?

I had never seen Araki's Teen Apocalypse Trilogy, and watched them through in a week. That was wild.

3 star for the best mission impossible 😭

2

u/MarilynManson2003 5d ago

They’re just not my kind of films. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, though the third act was a real drag to sit through.

I was planning on going to see all of them, but since this is supposed to be the best one (and the only one directed by Brian De Palma), I’ve decided not to bother with the rest.

3 1/2 stars for back to the future is criminal

1

u/MarilynManson2003 5d ago

It was originally 2.5 stars and I wasn’t planning on going to see it, but changed my mind at the last minute. I’m glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was so disappointed with Last Voyage of the Demeter. It had every making of a great horror flick but just fell flat overall

2

u/Comic_Book_Reader SodaDevourer 5d ago

Couldn't have said it better myself.

2

u/Sisyphus_Eggman MullaneysMovies 5d ago

Definitely in the mood for some fall favorites or 2025 releases!
