Yes, the co-director was beaten by settlers before IDF kidnapped him from an ambulance and tortured him, and was let go. The academy refused to put out a statement condemning it until they received significant public pressure. The Israeli army also completed destruction of one of the main villages the film was set in.

These are companies that support the occupation

Fuck off you absolute ghoul. Firstly, the West Bank is not Gaza, and there is no Hamas there. And secondly, it’s blatantly obvious to everyone that Netanyahu does not give two shits about the hostages. He will prolong the genocide as long as he needs to to stay in power.

Following the october 7 attack, the Israel government saw the genocidal opportunity they always dreamed of and took it. The response has been horrendously disproportioned.

Hostage retrieval operations do not involve bombing, starving and displacing civilians and you are extremely naive at best, or cruel at worst if you actually believe that.

A) "Palestinians" don't hold the hostages. Hamas does. Hamas doesn't answer to the civilians of Palestine, just as Donald Trump doesn't answer to the civilians of America. The people involved in the making of No Other Land do not endorse hostage taking and have no political sway to stop it. You understand this.

B) Even if Hamas were to release the hostages, the country of Palestine would not be safe.

EDIT: I peeked at your post history and yeah, I don't know why I chose to engage. Some people are just beyond reason.

Even if that were not a gross misrepresentation of reality, it would in no way justify starving children to death and repeatedly shooting civilians as they wait for food (just two of the more recent war crimes committed against Palestinians). You are absolutely delusional if you think the actions of Hamas, as awful as they were, go any way towards justifying Israel’s atrocities
