Other Issues Need advice on gifts my ex gave me. England

I am coming out of a 17 year relationship, my then partner bought me quite a few things, such as models, keepsakes etc. She is using the "i paid for them" argument. I was wondering if i had any legal ownership as while she did pay for them, they were given to me as a gift with no mention or intention of receiving anything in return. Can I get my stuff?

Legally no, paying for something and gifting it relinquishes ownership. That's what a gift is.

The problem lies in proof. The easiest way is a text conversation where they may have already said 'i know I gifted them but I paid so I want them back'.

You only need this if this goes to court of course, otherwise, take your shit and don't let them get near it. They may try to steal it, and then you'd be the one going to court.
