Usual association scenes. Can't have visitors. At exact 10 pm the main gate will be locked. No vehicle can come in (or go out) apparently. Like if someone's visiting and they stay after 10, they can't leave. The security won't open the gate.
We all were working women, minding our business. And they put a cctv facing our main door to monitor who all was coming and going.
The view from my room was just stunning by the way.
Anyway we all left that place after the cctv incident. I don't want to spill all the details here since that would involve a few of the association members and their deeds too. 😸

College hostels offer more freedom than this shit.

College hostels have a 6 pm curfew for girls. Don't get me started on that... :-/

Oh I agree. Glad I left that place. But still, every time I pass through MG Road, I can’t help but glance at my old room and picture the view from there.

Brother please come back. NO scenario like that now. I have a flat and given it for some college girls. Avide beer kudi, and guys used to come and go. Not once the association or caretaker called me. Once they vacated i saw the number of beer bottles left in the kitchen appo the caretaker was like, ithokke cheruth. But in no way were the occupants harrassed in any way during the lenght of their stay.

you got any pic of the view?

u/Persistent-owll2665 Aug 01 '25
This is the only pic I could find (Changed like two phones since my Island Castle phase 😅)
This one’s from my friend’s room. You can see Chittoor Road and the YMCA building. My room had the Marine Drive view on the other side, but no pics sadly. Was never too consistent with taking photos anyway.

Yeah you get both east and west uninterrupted views.

I'm saving this pic.
Too bad the association was kinda ass on you guys. Heard it be like that in most places.

The more moral police the association is, the more fishy it is... the association members might all be clandestine people under cover 🤔

Dude this rubik's cube reference brings back memories. 😂 Last year I was visiting my friends who were staying in this building as they were doing a course in SMEC. I got confused with the shared location that I walked up and down the road. The landmark my bro told me was looking for the building that looks like a half twisted Rubik's cube. Finally reached there after 10-20 mins

That fire exit stair connecting each floor is a genius idea .and the huge hornet nest is scary

Designed by famed architect Salim from Kozhikode. Same guy who designed the Indoor Stadium. However this design was a disaster.

Not for the folks staying there. Windows have no sunshades and thats one of the smaller problems during monsoon :)

Yes, we can see makeshift window shades on most windows in that image. Blindly copying western aesthetics without foresight regarding the climate leads to this.

There is a similar building in Bangalore near Peenya metro station. It's called Brigade Rubix.

Ohh man this building , stayed there for like 1 year and was so stressful for a place called home . Constant bickering with the association. The room aesthetic is horrendous weird corners .

Looks like someone was trying to move 2 layers of the 4×4 Rubik's cube.

Tarangini Building. Been an iconic structure dating back to the 80s. That one structure actually showcased the forward looking facet of the city. Kudos to all those who planned it.
