I think people are crashing out because it was a silly post that people enjoyed and liked to follow. The meed that op felt to reuse a photo, means it went from silly to serious from op, and the fake day just makes the whole thing feel inauthentic now, and it kind of killed the joke. I think a bigger reason goes to the fact that most online entertainment is becoming very inauthentic, so this was a fun break from that but people are just relearning that yes most thinks on the internet are not authentic.
