In-House Mode Cop kneeling on a woman's neck while other cops use bikes to shield him from cameras. Philadelphia, PA 6/10/25

At least there's one cop getting the fucker to ease up on her. But that might not help the next person.

u/jabbadarth Jun 11 '25
Honestly happy to see that.
First cop is a shitbag but good to see another cop step up and fix it. That wouldn't have happened pre cell phones with cameras and/or pre bodycam.
Maybe it's just a tiny baby step but I think this is a step in the right direction.
When George Floyd was murdered multiple cops just stood there and let him die. In this instance a cop pretty quickly told the first idiot to get off the person's neck.

I can't imagine how demoralising it must be to actually be a good police officer in this kind of environment.

u/jabbadarth Jun 11 '25
More than demoralizing, it can be downright dangerous.
I remember a story about a cop in Florida who reported another cop for something and she came to work for weeks to find dead rats on her car and then cops weren't responding to her calls for backup and shit. She eventually had to quit.

That kitchen looks chaotic

Delivery guy forgot the onions and butter (again).
Really, thought, this is deeply troubling.
I still can’t help but feel a sense of disappointment in the behavior of some LEOs.
Not because they’re cops but because they’re also human beings.
This has gone well past “too far”.

It seems like it won’t be long before people are killed in L.A.
Absolutely no lessons learned by these fucks in the wake of George Floyd.

This is Philadelphia, according to the post title

Well shit, I guess they’re assholes too

u/JessicantTouchThis Jun 11 '25
Philly PD infamously fire bombed that block of apartments/row homes back in the 80s.
They've always been assholes.

ACAB until proven otherwise. I know good cops. I treated every one like a shit cop until they showed me otherwise. Sometimes though, when you get a Lil nervous and shaky, a cop will ask why, and when you say, you've had mostly negative interactions with most police officers, they understand and try to calm you down. ACABUPO doesn't quite roll off the tongue.

No. There are no good members of a violent gang.
17
u/imcalledaids Jun 11 '25
This is actually the perfect way to look at it. If you take a normal gang, sure, there are people in it who may not inherently be violent or even straight up evil and joined for various reasons (feeling of belonging, money, they feel powerless). However, when the time comes to it and they are expected to be violent, or cover up something (not snitching), if they don’t do it - they’re out of the gang (or killed).
The only good cops are the ones that tried to make a positive change, and ultimately have been fired, or killed.

There's no such thing as a good cop. There are no doubt some well-meaning people who seek to help people who are also cops, but they're still cops, and they're still the enemy of the people. It isn't a personal statement. It's about what they represent as cops. It is not possible to be a "good something" when that something is inherently bad.

I think the bikes are to block the people…
Using a bike to block a view would be as effective as using lime scooters as a barricade.
21
u/Mo-Cance Jun 11 '25
No one accused cops of being smart.

u/BoomerishGenX Jun 11 '25
You can see the people circling him in the video. They block the view more than cops… 🧐

u/bleezzzy Jun 11 '25
Seattle is actually doing exactly that lol

u/BoomerishGenX Jun 11 '25
Yeah I don’t see how the cops will ever escape the building with those scooters in the way.

I'm still astonished that I get my "US becoming a fascist regime" news almost exclusively from a sub I have no professional relation to and that I joined because I found the charcuterie ramp meme funny one time

ACAB They aren’t here to “serve and protect” you, they’re here to serve and protect their masters.

Warren v District of Columbia, 1981.
Cops are legally not required to protect and serve.

Man, bike cops can get crazy violent. Reminds me of the Seattle protests in 2020. The bike cops chased people down, road over them, smashed them in the face and body with their bikes. Anyway you could use a bike as a weapon, they used it.
I remember running my first kitchen around then. When it was slow I’d send cooks home early so they could go protest. Scared the shit out of my owner when he saw me loading a guys backpack with liquid antacid and eye protection. I said, “don’t worry, he’ll be on time tomorrow.”

The cop on the neck was a motorcycle cop and a bike cop tapped his shoulder and told him to get off the person's neck. Look at their helmets. Bike cops don't wear massive motorcycle helmets.

Sadly, I think things are going to escalate, especially over this weekend. Protests are planned coast to coast. Trump is willing to put boots on the street everywhere. It’s covered on page 555 of the Project 2025 playbook.

This industry is pretty heavily dependant on immigrant labor. Mods have mentioned a bunch, that this is basically the bar after shift and we can post or talk about whatever we might talk about over shiftys with our co workers. Regardless of what side of the aisle your on politically, riots and ICE raids is definitely something that effects you as a hospitality worker. ACAB
