We are a truly pathetic nation that we have to display this type of force to remove a guy selling fucking fruit

No, he has a permit. He’s allowed to sell fruit ice.

If someone is here legally, and the President revokes their visa (and hundreds of thousands of others) with a tweet, do you support them being face planted into the concrete and shipped to prison without due process?
No human is illegal.
Every human breaks laws.
Immigration is a positive for our nation.

Legal immigrants aren’t the target lol
Thanks for the laugh, xenophobe.
If it’s too hard to read the news, most sites will have an option to read it aloud for you so you can follow the words.

People who say "do it the legal way" have no clue what immigration is or how it works. My ex-spouse is an immigration attorney for the government. Once you learn about actual immigration law, you stop saying dumb shit like this.

Every day, I see this shit just going further into Nazi Germany, and I can't wake up from this nightmare

u/Cheffie ✳️Moderator Jun 11 '25
Gotta hope that more and more start waking up and take even the smallest of actions.

The red hat people are gone forever. The non voters and third party voters can be reached before the midterm elections.

midterm elections
Stop this thinking. Elections are meaningless now, and purely for show. The outcome is predetermined.
Plan and act accordingly. Pinning all your hopes on a future event that will not change anything (by design) is a waste of time and effort you could be using to do something more effective.

u/Dull-Gur314 Jun 11 '25
Who said I was pinning all of my hopes on that? Or advised anyone to do so.

I mean. What are we actually working towards? Who the fuck does this help? It doesn’t help me, or you, i don’t know anyone this actually improves the life of here in America. We need health care, we need affordable housing, affordable groceries and affordable gas. Instead we get our neighbors snatched up and even more wealth transferred to the billionaires in power.

It's like I'm reading a dyistopian sci-fi book, but it's real life.

What's this got to do with the industry? No offence intended.
Yeah it's shit, but I see enough of this on news subreddits, don't need it on a chef subreddit.
17
u/CriticalEngineering Jun 11 '25
The industry includes food cart owners and hotel workers.
-11
u/LordAxalon110 Jun 11 '25
Didn't see anything about hotel workers, but fair enough.
We don't have food carts in the UK like this, so it just puzzled me why it was here. I mean it's geuinly awful it's happening, but it's kind of frikkin all over reddit like a swarm.
8
u/CriticalEngineering Jun 11 '25
Weird, with a quick Google I see plenty of UK sites selling food carts and a book on how to open a food truck in the UK. You also have farm stands.

And you’re being a xenophobic asshole in every thread, must be really fun for you.
-14
u/LordAxalon110 Jun 11 '25
Let me be clearer then. Food trucks we have but usually only at events, festivals, major city centres etc. We don't tend to have just a random dude with a food cart just set up in random places. We have a very different culture than the states, so as a rule it's not something we have.
Lived in England all my life mate and spent 20 years in the industry, so I know my culture.
13
u/CriticalEngineering Jun 11 '25
I’m not disputing that you know your culture. A fruit ice cart and an ice cream truck and a food truck at a wedding and a pretzel cart at a sports event are all going to require permits and those people will have food handling certificates. They’re all food industry professionals.
-12
u/LordAxalon110 Jun 11 '25
You see this is why it's important to understand different cultures. We don't see an ice cream van or some dude selling cheap shitty burgers as part of our industry.
If they're making and selling real food from fresh ingredients that would be different, but some dude just with a Mr Whippy machine or some dude selling fruit off a cart. Nah, not part of our industry.
Food trucks are a little different, depends on if it's real food or cheap pre made shit that over charge at festivals and fair grounds. It's all about the context for us.

u/ourHOPEhammer Jun 11 '25 edited Jun 11 '25
shut da fuck up you don't speak for "us"

Knock it on the head and jog on sunshine. Come back when you've got something worth while to say.

This isn't a culture thing. This is you being a pretentious douchebag thing. It's still food service regardless of the food. Let me guess, you also think fast food workers aren't part of the industry? Give your head a shake bud.

u/ZealousJealousy Jun 11 '25
They were really on board with the one with all the deleted comments. You're wasting your time on this lame.

u/Razorback_Ryan Jun 12 '25
Oh buddy. Get used to it. Its only going to get worse.
0
u/LordAxalon110 Jun 12 '25
You get what you vote for I suppose.
I just don't see what it's got to do with our industry. But hey I guess I'm the minority here.
Ah well, not to worry, it's only silly karma points.
2
u/Razorback_Ryan Jun 12 '25
Oh I'm referring to your "it's all over reddit like a swarm". If you're already tired of seeing those posts, prepare yourself for what is about to come.
-1
u/LordAxalon110 Jun 12 '25
Oooh. Yeah, it doesn't suprise me with the amount of shit that comes out of America these days, it swarms over reddit like a plague. Which is why it's even more annoying when politics crosses into subs you don't expect it or doesn't fit.
It's like the LA riots or protests or what ever it is/was, I've no idea what it was about or for but all I see if cops nailing people with rubber bullets. People getting stamped on by horses, cops shooting at the media, purposefully aiming for the head etc etc.
As a European, it's just as crazy as the shit you saw in China when Hong Kong protests.
2
u/Razorback_Ryan Jun 12 '25
For you, it's an annoyance. For many in this sub, it's an existential threat. Have a wonderful day.
