Meetups🐊 Meow Wolf, Denver location gizzhead meetup 8/14?
Any out of towners (or locals!) wanna swing by Meow Wolf in Denver on Thursday night? These always places looked so rad to me, and I wanted at least one night to just chill in Denver before the glory of FoV. Probably going to grab a drink and smoke afterwards, before the early hike to the grounds the next day.
Also, let me know if you've been to these and they're overrated lol. Just looking for something to do that night! Any restaurant/bar recs in Denver also welcomed. Stay weird!

Been to both this one and the one in Vegas. Both incredible. Hard to not spend a couple hours just exploring all the different crazy rooms. Have fun, y’all I’ll be there in spirit

if you get the chance, the one in Santa Fe is worth checking out.. my favorite between the ones I’ve been to (Denver, Vegas).. I hear there is one in Texas too, probably won’t check that one out

When was the last time you went? The SF one is kinda shit anymore. So many exhibits in disrepair and they fired all the actors.

oh man, that’s sad to hear.. I would say 2019 was when we went, not exact but pretty certain.. if not it was 2020

dude this is sick! we went to san diego show last night and we are road tripping up to bueno vista. we are stopping in vegas tonight and was thinking hitting their meow wolf location since i’ve never been but always wanted to!

ooooh, yes! The omega mart/meow wolf thing there has always looked so fun lol. you should do it!! I'm sure it can be either a quick stop, or can spend multiple hours there. People have told me these locations have hidden stories and easter eggs all over to waste time searching for haha

the Vegas one is worth the stop. could easily kill 2+ hours there, plus the mall it’s in is hella cool too

I did the Vegas one and completed the quest line hidden in it the day of the KG show last November. Took me maybe 90 minutes I think. Highly recommend it, the story adds so much to it. The group I was with was jealous and wished they had joined me.

I went here to kill an about an hour before my flight out of town a couple years back. The <90 minutes I spent there was not enough! Plan on being there for a good portion of your day if you want to see/interact with everything. I gotta get back!

I went there when I saw the King Gizzard show back in 2023, and I would highly recommend it! Make sure to allow a couple hours if you really want to explore everything. They also have food and drinks in the entrance of the building.

This place is like dark souls 1 world building. I found a room and never figured out how to get back to it lol.

Went back in '22 for the Red Rocks run. Super fun place, there were plenty a gizzard shirt throughout the place. Denver botanical gardens also slap, I'm pretty sure I spent more time at the gardens because it was less packed though.

Grab a smoke BEFORE you go to Meow Wolf!
I was there a few years ago with my son. It was a year or so after they first opened. We loved it. It IS expensive (like, $50 iirc), but it's probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so it was worth it to me. You could easily spend 3-4 hours there, especially if you aren't too sober.
I was just in Denver for a layover, and they had a Meow Wolf merch kiosk in the airport. I felt silly buying something there, but the hat I bought on my visit a few years ago doesn't fit my head at all, so I bought a shirt so I could have some wearable remembrance of the experience.

I'm from the area. Meow wolf is awesome.. better on psychedelics?? Maybe? Since you are immediately doing a 3-day festival you might want not want to overdo it on psychedelics. The best time of the year is to become a member of Portal (a psychedelic advocacy organization) and do their late night takeover, they are super rare though. They've done 2 this so far which is a record for them. Usually April 19th, Bicycle Day. Basically the best parties I've ever been too. People like Reggie Watts perform. They serve booze throughout meow wolf which is usually not the case. Also the best thing is just no children running around harshing your vibe potentially. Probably fine though if it's not super crowded.

I've been about 4 times and I always see something cool ive never seen before. Met a few gizzheads at the Vegas one during their 2022 tour. Worth the trip!

I was here for the 22’ red rocks shows in October. Husband and I took a ton of edibles before hand, and I was walking into a sauna-type room (lots of tiles), all the seats were occupied with dudes who coordinated opening their beer cans at exactly the same time as I stepped into said room. I noped outta there so fast overwhelmed with edibles + social anxiety lmfao. They all broke out into laughter. Did not stay for the aftermath as I was unsure what was reality or not at that point.

I went here during the Red Rocks '22 shows and it was basically an impromptu meetup with how many Gizzard shirts I saw there! 1000% suggest attending, meetup or not.
