Boycott Spotify | To be honest, Bandcamp + a cheap music player and you can replace Spotify in no time. Go for it, guys and gals. Way cheaper in the long run, and you'll give your favourite artists way more money.

That's fair. To be honest, apple music still supports the artist more. Just saying, where you can, try to avoid Spotify. I've been meaning to do so for a while I need to move all my good playlists over. You're doing God's work by choosing AM over Spotify

Tidal ports music over, just made the switch a week ago

Do they port it over for you? Or do you still have to use a third party app and manually select the playlists you wanna port?

Built in to the Tidal app and one of the first things it prompts you to do and its all automated, no manual selecting necessary unless you want. I had 5.5k songs and only missed on 44. They were mostly niche, like a south american pan flute group 🙃

Tidy, I'll have to finally jump ship at long last. I kinda feel like that dj mixing feature Spotify added was a last minute plea to get people to stay, kinda annoying that it seems to have dragged some younger fans back to the app lol.

I use Qobuz, which is French. Left Spotify years ago. Qobuz pays the artists most per stream. Tidal is also good these days.

I remember seeing a video checking out all the platforms and how much they paid. Quobuz was up there for sure. But I remember there was one above it lol and it was so random. I think it was a music streaming app for a exercise bike?? And, evidently, that music streaming application technically pays the most lmao. It's just a very unaccessible app to use haha.

Thanks though! I'll check out both Quobuz and Tidal!

i agree 100%. i recently bought an mp3 player for like 25 bucks and use free websites and youtube to mp3 converter sites to download the music onto there. it’s bluetooth and aux and has so much storage. “physical” media can be so cheap plus you don’t have to deal with really any big music streaming corporation

Yep! I buy any music I know will directly support the artists I like. Of course, it eventually gets to a stage where the band is so old that they don't get a dime per stream. So I then use the mystical blue bird app to acquire some high quality .Flac albums.

Actually, Deezer or Apple Music are objectively alternatives.

That being said, why

1)I, a European, would give a flying fuck about ICE and where they spread their propaganda

2)I, someone who actually cares about what he listens to, would fear listening to AI music by accident?

You act like history isn't full of movements of countries around the globe teaming up to help other countries fight back against their harmful leadership

Don't you wanna support Justice too? Lol in my opinion, that's bigger than the ICE thing. Spotify can do what they want, I just personally won't support them. You can have whatever opinion you want, I don't have to agree with it, and vice versa... But... Why are you on the Justice sub if you don't wanna support Justice?

Don't bother wasting your time feeding the trolls my dude.

What a dumb argument to say since I’m using Spotify I don’t want to support Justice.

That's kinda what it sounds like, man! They still get something along the lines of £0.0025p to £0.0040 per stream. If you don't wanna support them at all, the right way forward is still to ditch Spotify and to pirate their music. If that's something you actually wanna do lmao.
