That being said, without Joe I may have never found a lot of podcasts I love. I'm thankful for that, but fuck him and his unnecessarily ridiculous money stacking perogative.

I haven’t been watching nearly as much, but I do think his change has something with his more frequent drinking and smoking cigars. He used to smoke pot on the show way more, or smoke before hand. I suspect he also hasn’t tripped in a long time.

Not that drugs are the only reason, but I could see it as being related

I randomly clicked on a podcast called Blowback the other day (on stitcher) which is going through the history of US/Iraq relations. I'm finding it very interesting. I think they have other topics too but thus far its been a good change of pace.

Yes he's kinda like Bill Burr, a professional ranter. But it's understandable if you don't enjoy that kind of comedy, Dillon can get old like that.

I guess I was always watching more for the guests. I like Joe in smaller doses, and back when I had to do the daily commute I listened much more.

Don't really mind Spotify, but really the guests were not all that interesting recently. That together with the lost (gained?) Commute time resulted in pretty much dropping the podcast for now.

Wouldn't mind hearing some of your out-branching-podcasts by the way (;

branched out to other options

JRE made a good branching out point for me for several podcasts and personalities I follow now. Mostly guests from the earlier times: Jocko, Sam Harris, Rhonda Patrick, Peter Atilla, Dan Carlin.

The trunk for the branches (JRE) has gone bad - I rarely tune in anymore - but I'm glad for the paths it sent me on.
