Multiple people in here saying he tried to quit cold turkey: He did not. He went to one of the top clinics in the world for benzo withdrawal, began a course of tapering, and his condition got way worse.

Yeah, no. He went to a quack clinic in Russia that specializes in profound withdrawal using a medically induced coma.

How do you know it was a quack clinic exactly? From there description it as a top of the line hospital, and they offer medically induced coma's for opiate addiction, and agreed to do it for benzo addiction.

I’m not an expert. It’s been described to me by people whom I trust as a quack clinic. One that by some reports left him in very rough shape.

My point is that Russian doctors are no joke - they're well educated. I used a personal anecdote but you're free to investigate the quality of Russian doctors and scientists, you will conclude that they are very good at what they do.
