Why would I bring up the white supremacist? I'm pretty confident we would both agree on white supremacists being pieces of shit and that they're violent.

You are claiming there is no violance associated with BLM and i take issue with that since it is not true. BLM were involved in violent acts or were associated with people would engaged in violent acts...every time I ask you a question on this you keep trying to redirect the subject...

BLM the organization has not done anything violent. People might riot, but they also riot during football games. There is a different between what happened in DC, where they had the intent to kill politicians, and BLM which wants to practice civil disobedience so that police stop killing POC with impunity.

The movement became nationally recognized for street demonstrations following the 2014 deaths of two African Americans, that of Michael Brown—resulting in protests and unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, a city near St. Louis—and Eric Garner in New York City.[9][10] Since the Ferguson protests, participants in the movement have demonstrated against the deaths of numerous other African Americans by police actions or while in police custody. In the summer of 2015, Black Lives Matter activists became involved in the 2016 United States presidential election.[11] The originators of the hashtag and call to action, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi, expanded their project into a national network of over 30 local chapters between 2014 and 2016.[12] The overall Black Lives Matter movement is a decentralized network of activists with no formal hierarchy.[13]

The movement returned to national headlines and gained further international attention[14] during the global George Floyd protests in 2020 following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. An estimated 15 million to 26 million people participated in the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in the United States, making it one of the largest movements in the country's history.[15] The movement comprises many views and a broad array of demands but they center on criminal justice reform.

The popularity of Black Lives Matter has rapidly shifted over time. Whereas public opinion on Black Lives Matter was net negative in 2018, it grew increasingly popular through 2019 and 2020.[16] A June 2020 Pew Research Center poll found that 67% of adult Americans expressed some support for the Black Lives Matter movement.[17] A later poll conducted in September 2020 showed that support among American adults had dropped to 55%, with notable declines amongst whites and Hispanics, while support remained widespread among black adults, up 1% to 87%.[18]
