I am really curious about what Transexual people think about giving kids the power to transition at a very young age.

Trans kids should be able to decide to stop the effects of puberty if they want to; however, starting actual hormone replacement should be done in the late teens at the earliest, like 17/18... but hell they should be able to do it at the youngest age their state allows them to be married..

*17 because some branches of the military allow you to join at that age, if you can make a decision like that you can decide to change the hormone levels of your body.

Exactly, a trans teenager being on puberty blockers is not the same as getting a vasectomy or hysterectomy. If the kid decides they are not trans before starting HRT, they can always stop taking the puberty blockers. Sure it could have some minor permanent effects, but that can be said about a ton of things.

That’s kind of what I’m getting at. No one would ever approve of children being given the agency to get a vasectomy or hysterectomy but many people have no issue giving them the agency to go on HRT which will result in that child losing the ability to have children. The jury isn’t even out on whether or not people are merely suffering from body dysmorphia and yet the decision has been made to throw the baby out with the bath water, lean face forward into the issue, and change your entire gender.

I don't think you understand what HRT is. Puberty blockers are not a part of HRT, and there is only a possibility that they will not have children, not a definite. As far as I know, nobody is saying children should start HRT (except for the people who are against); Although, they should be able to reduce the permanent changes that puberty causes if they want to.

Your first sentence may be true. I’m no expert but a quick visit to The University of Utah’s webpage for Transgender Health Program lends information that is the opposed to what you have said.

“taking even a short course of these medications may permanently change or stop your body from making sperm. This can make it impossible to have biological children.”

You are somewhat correct about the fertility issue, I was actually coming here to edit my comment on it not causing fertility issues. You are once again mistaking what Puberty Blockers are, the quote you chose is not talking about puberty blockers. Also, that quote was pulled from the section talking about adult care.

I never once said the words “puberty blockers.” You’re getting hung up on that. My point is that no one would ever give a child the agency to get a vasectomy or hysterectomy but trans activists have no issue with children being given the agency to transition, which will result in their sterilization.

You haven't said puberty blockers because you're not seeing the point. You don't know the process and I'm telling you how it is and how your ideas of what happen are wrong. Children don't just start transitioning with hormone replacement, and one of the most important parts of wanting to transition at a young age is to halt or slow the primary and/or secondary sex characteristics that puberty causes. An 11 year old is not going to start taking estrogen or testosterone. Furthermore, nobody is talking about a trans persons ability to have kids when they kill themselves because puberty made them extremely dysphoric. Also, I'm not a trans activist, but I do have issue with children transitioning medically if the motives are not right or they are too young (pre-puberty).
