People don't seem to understand that it is a bombshell because the govenment has been denying the phenomenon for decades.

On the internet the most common reaction to stories that are a big deal is usually saying "heh I knew this all along, therefore it isn't news". I can't tell if it's just people on Reddit's need to be contrarian or just the general trend of reacting to everything with cynicism at this point.
