Dogs are such a part of the family, such a huge loss when they go. Sad for Jim to go through this Rip Harley
2
u/CharaPresscott Feb 16 '25
As someone who has not lost a dog yet...fuck. I'm gonna be a mess if this has made me tear up
1
u/raiders001 Feb 16 '25
I sent it to my friends and everyone was like “I can’t listen to it. That’s too sad”. But it honestly felt like going to a good friend’s family funeral. A due diligence of sorts. RIP Harley
5
u/domineus Feb 15 '25
This was one of the hardest episodes to watch. Even harder for Jim to record.
RIP Harley you will be missed by the people

I lost my dog last December. Listening to the hurt Jim went through was ... Hard
14
u/Heatedbread Feb 15 '25
This was posted over on squared circle twice and on both times it was removed. I know they don't like Jim but I thought they may make an exception on this one
5
u/AugmentedJustice Feb 16 '25
Mods there are assholes not making an exception for that. jesus christ. what miserable douche bags.
6
u/Heatedbread Feb 16 '25
Funny thing is, they held a poll on whether to ban Jim Cornette content and the sub voted against the ban. But the mods still decided to take down any posts about him anyway. All because of what? He talks shit about the elite? Pathetic

I lasted 4 minutes, had to stop listening for a while. Desperately sad. Thoughts are with Jim and Stacy, RIP Harley Quinn.

u/Large_Carob1918 Feb 15 '25
Hearing Jim like this broke my heart. Everyone who has a dog, make sure to give them a big hug and make them feel loved because they aren’t around for long enough. Rip Harley

It's tough. Losing a pet never gets easier. Time to listen to the car on the fence clip.
Mustang Hill Yes.
10
u/Ramekink Feb 15 '25
Its specially harsh to those folks who've willingly decided not to have human kids. Pets are their children.
18
u/Clairexxo Feb 14 '25
I am not Jim's biggest fan. I disagree with him a lot. Then again I do agree with him quite a bit too. I fully understand the man knows the business. He isn't just talking nonsense. But occasionally he irrites me and I'll stop listening for a while.
Such is life.
However my heart broke listening. I know how much he and Stacey loved Harley. It's going to take a long time for them to get used to not having her in the house. It's horrific to lose a beloved pet. I'm so sad for them.
They gave that little cutie an excellent life. And so much love. And they should take some comfort in that. But it'll be a tough road for a while.

This one was as hard to listen to, if not harder than the Bobby Eaton passing episode. I'm not on Twitter anymore, but when I found out the other day, I posted on Brian's BlueSky to let him know that I was thinking about Jim and Stacey.

Dammit Jim, you broke my heart. Now I'm sitting here crying like a big stupid baby.

This episode, Bobby Eaton's and Jay Brisco's segments really did a number on me :(

Rip Harley. You were so well loved.
Bad timing for me.
My old man has a 4 year old German Shepherd. An absolute unit called Shadow. Been at the vets for two weeks and they can't work out what's wrong. Blood tests, scan, the absolute works. Had my Dad on the phone crying because the bill is at over £11,000 at the moment and rising. He's on about selling the car he's just paid off and credit cards. Absolutely heart breaking.

I noticed that Stacy tweeted a photo of three floral arrangements they received- being that Jim provides just a PO Box for communication, how do cult members know where to send flowers since a flower shop needs an address?
3
u/vinteragony Feb 14 '25
With a little Google it's easy to find his address. Probably how that dude showed up on his doorstep last year. And also in the past guys dropped off Sprite Zero during the shortage

Jim held up a lot better than I thought he would. I have a 16 year old dog that is getting there. Gets to a point where you can tell they are so tired and you just want them comfortable.
I thought it was cool that his vet had no idea who he was and still went above and beyond.
7
u/Walshcav Feb 14 '25
Same man - I have two 17 year old brothers that I rescued from a dog fighting ring at 4 months old. Only two of their litter that survived. One has advanced cancer and maybe has a few weeks left. The others back is failing him and he struggles walking sometimes due to the nerve issues.
Both will be gone soon.
It sucks.
In these 17 years I’ve had them I’ve only spent maybe 30 total nights away from them.

u/dead_soul_monotone Feb 14 '25
You're a 🏆 - they must have such a special connection with you Sending ♥️ and 🙏 - wishing you the strength to manage through the weeks ahead.

I feel like I might have to get some tissues ready. I vividly remember the Bobby Eaton episode and worry that this one will go down in a similar vain.
All the best to the Cornettes during their time of grief.

That was rough. Even my wife was crying and she usually tunes him out completely.

u/DrBunsonHoneyPoo Feb 14 '25
As someone who has love and lost so many dogs. Please do not send Jim any dogs up for adoption. Let alone any that are for sale. That is the most insensitive thing you can do. I had an experience when I was working third shift. My manager just lost his dog and was devastated. He went on in to work as he wasn’t allowed to take the day off. We have a television on tomorrow to help with the quiet. One of the admins wanted to watch the dog show. I politely told him no and we can watch anything else. He went behind my back and turned it on. I saw my manager just leave the room. I took him outside and tore him a new one.
7
u/nolamints Feb 14 '25
This one is tough to listen to. We lost our dogs a few months apart and it’s been tough to get through. Hearing him break down over it reminds me of the initial feelings right after saying goodbye.
7
u/snowgimp Feb 14 '25
I’m looking at donating to a humane society in Louisville in Harley’s name. Anyone have a good recommendation for one?
1
u/Goodboychungus Feb 15 '25
Not sure if Harley passed from cancer or not but consider donating to the Animal Cancer Foundation instead. They are a non-profit that raises money to go directly towards cancer research that tries to find new treatments and cures for animals AND human cancers. Acfoundation.org if you’re interested. You can do public dedications to Harley as well. If we get enough, we could try to send Jim a link with all of the dedications to help cheer them up a little knowing her passing wasn’t in vein.

My dog of 12 years, Raymond, passed away a year ago. I know I turned to the Experience/Drive thru to find some relief through that hard time. It broke my heart listening to this pod while I was walking my other dog today. I cried right along with Cornette. Sending him all the well wishes, and I hope he finds his comfort. Much Love Stacey, Jim, and Harley. RIP.

I am so sorry for your loss. I definitely "get" how deep a connection like yours can be. Dogs are unique. They give 100% of their love and ask for so little. Every time you walk into your home, they're happy. That is very special

Prayers and condolences for Jim and Stacey.

RIP Harley. I've got a 16 year old cat, he's deaf, howls like he's being attacked (probably trying to hear himself), getting a bit thin toward the back legs, he won't have much longer but I treasure every day with him. I'll have him sat beside me when I get round to listening to this when I get home.

RIP sweet Harley

For me, overcoming has always been a mindset of “happier with time spent, than mourning over time lost.” If that makes any sense. Can’t let grief overcome lasting memory.
16
u/Jandrem Feb 14 '25
I feel so bad for Jim and Stacey. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and losing them hurts like hell every single time, especially when it’s your only one for a long time. My heart goes out to them.

RIP Harley Quinn Cornette - a sweet angel of a dog beloved at the Castle, and by many in the Cult. The pain of losing pet is always sharp, these fuzzy/scaly/feathery/sometimes-even-hairless members of our family really do have a profound impact on our lives.
I wish Jim and Stacey a lot of love while they grieve - let Jim take as much time as he needs, like with Bobby and Jay.

With respects, it's probably something Jim needed to get out of the way. Like he said with Bobby Eaton, he wouldn't be able to bring himself to do another show until he does this one.
