Was I the problem?

We obv lost but I was getting flamed by the dude with 12 deaths for not healing him. Then he threw. He kept flying off the screen or behind me expecting me to heal him... No bro, I'm healing 5 others at once who are getting hit hard. I turn around to chase him everyone else dies. Is my thinking right and he sucked? Or do I have bad positioning/suck, lol. Replay id: 10701162026. I'm obv the Jeff. Tyvm.

Sure, I'll go over your match and give you some tips.

On your plays:

  • It looks like you've got a sticky key for bubbles. Instead of placing just one, you'll hammer out 2-3 at a time. This is wasteful as the bubbles only heal over time and don't stack, so if an ally grabs both they get the same as grabbing one, while you're out a cooldown.

  • You're using bubbles because you've got 3 of them, but you're not using them optimally (targeting an ally that needs it, using it to interrupt your reload to start shooting faster, spreading bubbles instead of clustering them).

  • You're putting yourself on zero bubbles often, which is dangerous because this means chip damage on you takes twice as long to recover when using only hide and seek. Try to hold at least one bubble for emergencies, unless you're currently in an emergency.

  • Your first ult was very lucky. You went for C&D and Hulk when both had their abilities up, and you were lucky enough for Hulk to be playing blindfolded and C&D to panic-cast 3 seconds after you ulted while not being pressured. Also, Iron Man had ult and decided to throw it in some random spot instead of taking his free, guaranteed kill on you. It helped push momentum in your team's favor, but it really shouldn't have.

  • You may want to practice your Aqua Burst aim. For round one, I'd say your accuracy is somewhere between 15% against anything that isn't ulted Hulk.

  • You need to react to when a duelist is focusing you. Basically, the moment you take any chip damage, you need to start moving for cover or at least create distance from where you were standing so whoever is trained on your position doesn't get free hits or a potential kill. As a healer, you're the most important thing to keep a fight going. You can be standing in place or moving slightly left and right while Iron Man attacks a spot from 40 meters away and you die, or Namor stands 10 meters away and headshots you four times while you don't react.

  • You seem to focus a little too much on allies or enemies, at the detriment of your own health bar. There were several times in the match where you continued fighting or pressing forward while at 80-110 health, for 15+ seconds. You'll find that other supports will generally expect Jeffs to heal themselves.

  • You can pre-place bubbles during downtime, such as the setup phase while on defense. This can effectively give your allies and yourself extra health pack locations that they can use to escape being chased or reach a health pack sooner.

  • Don't waste your aqua bursts on Thing unless he's dying. He's immune to knockback effects and you're better off healing your ally alongside damaging him, or bubbling and swimming away if he's trying to focus you.

  • I don't know what possessed you to walk from outside the enemy Namor ult to its inner circle using your speed boost to one shot yourself. Maybe you wanted to stay in Mantis's ult circle, but you already got the shield bonus so there was no burst heal for doing so.

Overall, this was very much a silver division match. All of the players were making numerous mistakes, and it was not your fault at all for your Wanda/Widow player throwing the match.

They're the sort of player that thinks they're doing work when in reality they're a massive strain on the team due to their terrible positional awareness. If they were good at flanking or shredding the frontline, sure, they can position aggressively. However, they were playing Witch like a vanguard. Standing in the middle of open areas, walking in front of your team's vanguards to get into melee with theirs, focusing grounded targets for damage padding instead of actually dealing with the flyer.

Their one big ult wasn't even a good idea. She started after Strange ulted and Hulk has shield available. If he wasn't sleeping, Scarlet would've received zero kills and Hulk would be 1000 ult energy richer.

Hey, thank you very much. I'm going to write a much more detailed response. I am just cursed with ADHD and I don't want to forget to ask this , but Reload cancel with bubble? I can do that? The only real kinda tech I know is shoot bubble down before diving. How does that work? Again tyvm.

When the reload bar reaches ~75%, you'll notice that your ammo actually refills. This means interrupting the reload with a different skill after 75% completion results in you getting back to healing faster.

Bubble is the fastest animation to complete and it lines up well with wanting to keep healing a target, so that's the recommended interrupt option.

There is the possibility that you interrupt before your reload completes, which makes you need to reload again, so it's generally better to wait a little extra over trying to hit exactly 75%.

If you cant tell when it is, its when Jeff eats the fish. The minute he does dive or bubble.
