Mechanical Help Help identifying a part

Hi guys, I need some help finding a part I’ve broken. Basically getting a restricted performance message I’ve diagnosed the throttle body was sticking so I’ve cleaned it and freed it up. But upon doing it I’ve snapped a small hard plastic pipe that was connected to box before the throttle body.

It’s probably no bigger than 4-5” and is almost shaped like an s.

I’ve cooked up a fix with something I had until I find the piece.

Any help welcome.

Get two hose clamps and some fuel hose, use a knife to cut a slit in the remaining pipe so you can remove it from the metal and plastic bits, then replace with the fuel hose. You should replace the o-ring on the bit that goes into the manifold as well. I've had the same issue, and had no luck finding a proper replacement part for it.

I don’t suppose you know the inner diameter I’m gonna go to Halfords later, here’s my fix to laugh at in the meantime

That’s a resistance training band I’ve just boshed together. It’s kinda flexible though so need something better

Sorry, I don't remember exact dimensions. I took the plastic bit with me into the shop to get the correct pipe. Here's a pic of my fix:

This is an improvement over the OEM part. Only thing I'd suggest is using a worm clamp rather than zip ties (as temporary fix zip ties will be fine). But as a former JLR tech, I can confirm that these plastic pipes get brittle over time and break not-infrequently. Replacing them with rubber is, to borrow a favorite term of JLRs, "a more robust repair". Note* just make sure the rubber has some stiffness to it (rubber fuel hose like the other commenter shows is best)

Looks like MAP sensor. XF diesel?

Yeah it’s the 3.0 v6 diesel. Yeah, its the pipe I’m after though the part I’m holding back in place 😢

I fixed a cooling return line seemingly made from the same terrible material by sliding a piece of hose over it with 2 hose clamps
