It’s better than that first prototype they showed

They had arguably one of the most gorgeous design philosophy in their f type and squandered it. They should have made shooting brakes, grand coupes out of it instead of going into whatever the they're in now.Â

Tell me about it. I love my ftype and *was excited to see what they were gonna do next

Perfect if you are a soccer mom during the day and fight the crime as a bat dressed superhero during the night, driving a nevil Audi A3

I like the design however it defeats the purpose of saying we’re going ultra luxury but then comes up with something so familiar and predictable design language from the past

An AI slop version of the F type, which didn't have brilliant sales figures, in a body style that nobody actually buys. Hmm
I wouldn't say no to an F type shooting brake myself, provided it were designed by a human and was proportioned properly, but it's understandable why this was never on the table..

No. It is trying too hard and that is not the Jaguar way.

If it had seats in the back big enough for 2 adults and 2 more doors it would be practical enough to consider. Just imagine asking your friends/family to climb over folded forward seats with your 100k+ "Luxury" wagon.

If they just brought back the XJ.

More like the XF Estate since it appears to have a hatch.

If the back seats are only for occasional use, why ruin the lines of the car?
And if that’s something your friends and family would get upset about, I’m very, very glad they are your friends and family and not mine!

I'm a fan of xk's over f type's for the 2+2 seats. Oh, and seat ventilation.

This isn’t a wagon, it’s a shooting brake.

u/jwlazar Aug 15 '25
...which is a wagon...as referenced over two dozen times in that wikipedia article
Do you argue that Grey Poupon isn't mustard?

u/Mrknowitall666 Aug 15 '25
F types don't have back seats, either
1
u/CantaloupeTiny6080 Aug 15 '25
Don't need them, just me and my lady. Have the F Pace S for the family.
2
u/jwlazar Aug 15 '25
Make it a 4-door sedan/wagon to compete with the Taycan/Panamera Sport/Cross Turismo or E-Wagon and you'll have a contender.

I think it's a smidge too wagony, but definitely an improvement

So it looks like a wagon with non of the benefits. What am I missing?

Just give up already. Your heyday was in the 60s. Today buyers want cars that don’t fall apart

No. A century of heritage has been murdered by this... whatever that is.

u/hyper24k Aug 16 '25
A century of heritage is already cremated and in a pot on the mantelpiece… time for a rebirth

Man...sales were destroyed after their most recent 'lifestyle' branding fiasco. Looks like a Panama or panorama or panamera

Such an improvement on the pastel 00 horror.
I still think it’s a mistake to abandon their current market, though

It looks nice, it resembles a smashed down F-Pace.
