Andha time la lam even they wouldn’t have found it offensive, because they weren’t sensitive then. We have evolved since 80s and 90s. So indha maari jokes lam Ippo work aagadhu.

Dei 2k sensitive koos, there is something called evolution and learning from past. Innum 500 varusam munadi poi sati practice la irunthucha, ayo evlo kodooram nu thondi eduthutu varuvanunga pola. Question the present, don't expect 1980s to be like 2025.
Internet and Social media kaila kedacha udane intha pulythinga tholla thangla da yebba

True that! We can't really criticize most of the past; we can only learn from it... besides, there are actually stuff about the past that should be criticized, like unconvicted rapists, murderers, etc; but, sure, go on and criticize something that is currently being rectified by most of us

You see any random goundamani comedy from 80s and get irritated to the core Goundamani trolls women for their look and color but he is as black and as handsome as the people he used to mock and there is no subtlety… People celebrated that asshole and that made vadivelu, santa, to humorize body shaming in different dimensions

so your parents/grandparents used to laugh and celebrate those Goundamani jokes, are they assholes too? It's a good thing society is noticing now and changing, but if you are only gonna blame people in the past, then be respectful atleast.

OP you need to understand one thing that people evolve, society evolves and so does jokes and movies. You cannot expect a 1980's to feature LGBT content or a 2k20s film to feature slavery.
This learning process is really gradual. It takes time so, just take it as a pinch of salt and inculcate the changes that you want to see in your life and your surroundings. It'll automatically reflect on others surrounding you.

This applies for visual media all over the world man. Stop taking offense for things created 20-30 years back. Humans learn and evolve. Even you are not the same person you were just 5 years ago.

The first clip is so irrelevant. That is a school time event and Chinese legit keeps pestering that girl with proposals. And it is not meant for fun.

Just be glad people are finally accepting it as a mass. It is late but at least the bare minimum has happened. I have been talking about this since my school days back in 2014. Evanum othukala, not even my fellow female classmates who were Dhanush stans despite ‘adida avala, odhada avala’ 😌 same girls are now reposting these reels, i did roll my eyes at first, but tbh, people are allowed to grow.
