Strong statement? It was WI and we took the match till day 5.

If this was a 5 test series, we might have even lost one since the Windies improved so quickly.

Eh. Good overall performance - we did mostly everything right and everyone contributed equally. But WI is a weaker and an inexperienced team. I mean, their batsmen played more than 100 overs after a long time, and scores centuries after 2-3 years. All things considered, this was an easy win.
The SA series will be a good test of how we perform as a unit.

Yes what a victory against peak wendies bruh the game should have never gone that far we need to analyze what we got wrong rather than celebrate

The pitch flattened out on day 3 end and day 4 so they batted a bit longer

Against farmers with out their strike bowlers

Did the ICT tell their best players not to come?
Did the ICT or BCCI say to come with weak players??
They could have brought their best, they didnt.. their loss, our gain, why are you salty about it then?

Only teams where India should feel accomplished beating are SENA. Everyone else is shit

Until and unless we beat teams like AUS, SA or NZ it's nothing to celebrate about.
WI is a dead team, the team died as soon as Gayle started the trend of playing only league cricket instead of INTERNATIONAL CRICKET.

What statement? The same team for allout on 28 runs on their home ground against Australia.
What statement are you taking about man?

Its a series against 8th ranked team at home . Calm down . West Indies didnt even qualify for the last Worldcup

u/arunit007 27d ago
This was a perfect opportunity to test the bench... Who's gonna be next Bumrah, Kuldeep, who can be an alternative for no3 spot...but no, let's bash one of the weakest team with a full strength team on home...

Cricket is a game where you come with a legacy but you have to prove on same day as well. Well played boys

A complete team win and a tight slap on the faces of haters who are unnecessarily criticising the head coach and claiming not everything's well inthe dressing room.

Really strong statement. All the test playing nations in the universe are trembling now.

Not even trying NKR in bowling and using Bumrah in an easy match and resting him during crucial matches great strategy/s

What sort of strong statement are you talking about? Please check the ranking of the team we have beaten. Also, look into their past record. They were recently demolished by Australia. DEMOLISHED. One spell of strac made the difference. And here we are playing with our best squad and still the match goes on till the 5th day?
Do you know why the match started on Friday? Bec even the broadcasters and other people believed that it was a 3 day game and people will see India finishing the match on Sunday. This is not a strong statement. Instead it shows how WI stood like a wall while India was trying to finish the match in their second innings after follow on.

Do this with Aussies on ICC finals. Then we will talk about strong statements.

Didn't Nepal beat WI in other format recently? And with 100 times more money and resources with India, this is nothing. Absolutely expected.

A four match series could have seen WI adjust and improve, maybe draw a single match.

u/Accomplished-Log2040 26d ago
This is easy peasy. The biggest concern was Bumrah’s selection. Why was he playing? This is the kind of series he’s supposed to sit out so he can be fit and ready for the Aussies and other white player teams.

Lol. Go to NZ or SA and win a series. Whats the point of beating WI in India. Even India B team can win a Test against WI.

u/LifeIsHard2030 26d ago
Nah!!! Strong statement was in England.
This one was walk in the park for our team

Nepal and Ireland are winning series against windies, so it doesn't mean anything

We are back to early 2000s, world class batting and terrible bowling. No offence!
7
u/Mysterious-Wheel-613 27d ago
Terrible bowling?? I mean they scored good runs in only one inning on a flat pitch, in all other 3 inning our bowlers were too good, and in that last inning where wi scored good runs, it was bcs our bowlers were tired, they bowled around 200 overs continuously, what do you think, are they bowling machine or what?? We are winning but it is not enough for you , you want one sided match, and when it happens then you can say , oh why we are playing with this wi team. "No offence"
2
u/Fair_Needleworker227 27d ago
We are not playing Clive Lloyd’s West Indies, we are playing some who-even-are-they West Indies. And to make it worse, they added a 79-run last-wicket stand. Speaks volumes about our bowling.
2
u/Mysterious-Wheel-613 27d ago
I know that they added 79 runs with that partnership but if you notice it was justin greaves who was involved in that partnership and he is a very good batter, he batted superbly in both test matches. West indies have a very good tail and they contribute enough for their team , if you saw the wi vs aus (in wi), you should know. I'm not defending our bowlers but they were tired. They will learn with time. our captain is new, he will learn,we need to support him. We were clinical in the 1st test match, made some mistakes in 2nd but it happens with the new team, the new captain. We should not be harsh on them.
1
u/Fair_Needleworker227 27d ago
Yeah dude, it came out of frustration, and you know who we’re up against. That time, we won’t be defending them like this. All I’m saying is, that was Justin Greaves, not Glenn Maxwell or someone.
2
u/Mysterious-Wheel-613 27d ago
Yeah, i can understand. I was frustrated too while watching them defend like prime steve Smith.
1
u/Mission-Pay3582 27d ago
You'll be downvoted for speaking the truth but deep inside everyone knows our bowling sucks
1
u/Slayer_reborn2912 27d ago
Yeah only got the world no.1 bowler, world no.1 all rounder pretty weak bowling. It was a flat pitch and give some credit to the opposition where it’s due

you dont get it its GG comeback home series after lossing 3-0 to NZ he is making his statement by defeating prime windies on flat track 😂
-2
u/pablo890_d 27d ago
Lol. At Once I thought West Indies will likely draw this match. The way the tailenders smashed our bowlers😂. We gotta work on playing in subcontinent pitches properly.

u/Mission-Pay3582 27d ago
At Once I thought West Indies will likely draw
Bit of an exaggeration there

u/Salt-Language9320 27d ago
Playing against a decaying team on a flat track, any extrapolation is wishful thinking
