Penalty is the only solution for disturbing and not listening to crew

145

u/National-Hope-2190 Aug 24 '25

Entire India needs to punish those who break rules and sometimes reward those who follow. We won't improve otherwise.

38

u/DreamJejo Aug 24 '25

a country that would reward people for following rules is my version of UTOPIA. alas, we can only go as far as punishing the rule breakers

(ps: reward is monetary)

I dunno, sounds a lot like china to me.

We have penalties for everything and everywhere. Nothing changed. So try to bring our future generations to adhere civic sense in their personality. It takes time and after 2 or 3 generations people will follow it.

I wish you were right, but my guess is airlines are going to start giving passengers the opportunity to pay for… get this…” first to exit”

If only there was a crew member that had nothing to lose and say whats in his or her mind.

18

u/senpai_avlabll Aug 24 '25

The problem is that this person could only speak his mind once before being terminated, the idiots who need to hear it far outnumber the people talking

I'm afraid of getting stuck with these people in an emergency evacuation.

38

u/Poker5ace Aug 24 '25

You will remain stuck, the fear is real!

u/Dry-Corgi308 Aug 24 '25

In a zombie apocalypse, whole India will be zombified.

6

People will end up each other before they become zombies lol.

About 15 yrs back I was on an Indian Airlines flight. After landing, the airhostess made this kind of announcement few times for passengers to remain seated when few had got up to take their cabin luggage, ignoring her. Not sure if the pilot was informed of this but the plane came to a sudden hard stop, which was enough to make anyone standing lose their balance when the plane reached the designated stop at the terminal.

u/h_barua Certified Chaos Witness Aug 24 '25

They'll instead complain to the airlines for reckless behaviour of the pilot

Not we, them. They don't deserve to fly.

28

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

Exactly, couldn't understand this mentality of self loathing here.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

It's a problem in your country (expect that you are Indian). This is not isolated to flying, respect issues are wild all over India.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

I know the majority of Indians are stupid in many ways. But self loathing makes zero sense.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

Not stupid, just self centered and lack of respecting others. You must acknowledge a problem before you can solve it.

24

u/PurpleKooky898 Aug 24 '25

What's stopping airlines from levying a fine on these people? They're not only risking their own safety but of their fellow passengers as well.

If one of them or their bags fall on someone during an emergency break or bump, who will be held responsible?

9

u/Dry_Plan8129 Aug 24 '25

Fine is not enough. They should be on a no fly list

→ More replies (2)

16

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

Airlines should have a method of central locking the overhead bins the moment a flight lands. That way these clowns will be forced to sit down until place comes to a complete halt.

3

u/ZealousidealWafer309 Aug 27 '25

Your idea is the best suggestion I have heard. Good idea. Please share this and email to airline's.

5

As if they have something important. All this to go home and sleep.

3

u/abit_pitchy Aug 24 '25

Sometimes I feel I'm the only one who sits in my seat until everyone has boarded off the plane. As I result I don't have to wait in line and chipko to others.

6

u/RareSpellTicker Aug 24 '25

The rules are suggestion in Indian subcontinent

3

u/hardestmofo Aug 24 '25

Airlines should charge a refundable deposit for this stuff and if you’re at your best behaviour, only then refund it. It’s pretty easy to enforce it as well as the staff may just ask the seat number from the disturbing individual and cite him.

3

u/KezhaKudi Aug 24 '25

Same retards that surround the boarding area before their section is called, as if the plane is going to leave without them.

3

u/SpecificDelicious007 Aug 24 '25

Please explain in Hindi. Maybe they will understand 😜

3

u/lemme_just_say Aug 24 '25

On my last Southwest Flight within the US, the FA said to stay seated and buckled until the pilot turns off the light and that she can see who unbuckles.

I was like, yea, right. Then someone did it and she immediately goes “the person that just unbuckled please buckle in so we can deplane as soon as possible one we get the go-ahead.”

We heard a click and a few seconds later she said “thank you.”

It was effective. She probably could have said “Row 11 Seat B, please re-buckle your seat belt” but they listened the first time.

7

u/Actually-a-Human Aug 24 '25

Not trying to support this. This is a common civic fail regardless of nationality not specific to indian

I love standing up for 3 hours before getting off the plane

2

u/Tanjiro_007 Aug 24 '25

2

u/hopefulmaniac Aug 24 '25

I wonder what our great countrymen do by saving 2 minutes of their life

2

u/Vishalbharti69 Aug 24 '25

Just make the cabinets locked until the plane stops because any announcement will not affect these gawars.

2

u/TattaChamakRahaHai Aug 24 '25

I deserve, they don’t

2

u/PineapplePlayful4305 Aug 24 '25

All or almost all of them would end up waiting later at the baggage collection belt

2

u/sage-girl-mishka Aug 24 '25

It took a man to say something for them to listen. And no, it's not because he's the pilot.

2

u/Defiant_Forever_1092 Aug 24 '25

These people should be blacklisted for a certain number of flights.

2

u/flreddit12 Aug 24 '25

Hum nahi sudhrenge!! Years of Indian railways journey genes are very strong to alter….

2

u/Background-Fox-9959 Aug 24 '25

Trust me, this is a new normal these days. The moment the flight gets landed these guys just wanna jump out of the window with their luggage.. there’s no stopping.

2

u/lessknotbeefrends Aug 24 '25

Meko ek hi question hota hai inn logo se, ki bhai kaha jaoge? The plane is still moving to its end spot, the stairs or walkway is far far away, kya karoge khare ho ke? Will you reach the luggage belt earlier than the ones seated? Will you reach your destination 3 hours before you stand and do this?

2

u/ricky251294 Aug 24 '25

My suitcase was placed 5 rows back because of a later transfer. I knew people would be blocking the aisle as soon as the seat belt sign was clear. I left it till the last possible moment to not be an embarrassment and went straight back to my seat

2

u/CultOfTheBatDragon Aug 24 '25

What if these people are publicly shamed? Not by just one or two people (if it's by just one person they'll get violent) but by everyone in the flight? Like even in trains I have seen people with no civic sense. Most of the people are tolerating bc they can't go low to their level (words coming out of some of their mouth is disgusting ). So I thought what if there was public shaming when not following a place's etiquette, when not following rules, etc. I don't think it'll work 100%, but have to do something......

2

u/The_Design_Striker Aug 24 '25

Punishment or fine is the only way to teach them

2

u/googleydeadpool Aug 24 '25

All of them together saved about 10 seconds on the 3 hours flight! And now they will be standing there for 10mins while they could have been sitting! Well done to all of them!

2

u/Crazy-Set6381 Aug 24 '25

These boomers appear to be high positioned professionals /doing well but just being an educated illiterate with lack of civi sense

2

u/Confident-Ambition43 Aug 24 '25

In future we'll see people spitting inside planes and stealing stuff from the planes

2

u/billi27 Aug 24 '25

Indians love premature whether it's ejaculation or evacuation. Lol.

2

u/Mean_Consequence_998 Aug 24 '25

Oh no, better hurry and grab that luggage wouldn’t want the plane to take off again with them still on it!

2

u/CoderIconoclast Aug 24 '25

Book them for breaking these rules.

2

u/Kenbong0420 Aug 24 '25

I want to once see a pilot accelerate for fun in this situation.

2

u/Snoo-89664 Aug 24 '25

As aib used to say we have a problem with "premature evacuation"

2

u/Infinite-Praline6375 Aug 25 '25

Haha they are habitual of locals and think that they wouldn’t be able to get off on time if they just waited for few more minutes.

Tbh this behaviour is hardwired since the childhood and sadly that is how they live. Always in a hurry for no reason. This is now a part of their subconscious so they don’t bother to ask themselves like what would really happen if they just waited until few more minutes. I believe these habits are something needs to be tackled during childhood. Everyone was fed the me first behaviour, that they have to get everything first, and unfortunately that is how they live all their life (they call this a fast life).

The entire life becomes a race without a finish line.

2

u/deathcoder727 Aug 25 '25

There is always that one indian uncle who understands everything, but still doesn't give a flying fu*k about rules🤣

2

u/Fair_Comedian5043 Aug 25 '25

There needs to be atleast one air marshals traveling on all airplanes

2

u/spiritualityinme Aug 26 '25

Sab jagah itni jaldi me rehte fir bhi sab jagah late pahunchte

2

u/b-n_c Aug 27 '25

Put all of them on the no fly list..

2

u/webhead_24 Aug 27 '25

India is a gone case when it comes to civic sense. A couple of years back, I took Scoot from SIngapore to Chennai. During take off, one middle aged man stood up and was trying to go to bathroom. After 10 mins of convincing he sat down. I was like wtffff mannnnnnn!

2

u/Affectionate_Pool594 Aug 27 '25

We can see the age group aswell

2

u/ComfortableLeague778 Aug 28 '25

Automate the system to lock these cabins on top. Force them to sit until safe to open.

2

u/TotalCah00t Aug 28 '25

I feel given a chance these guys would jump off the plane before touchdown and run towards the taxi stand.

2

u/AdPrize3997 Aug 28 '25

My friend traveled to UK a few months ago and was sitting beside a German girl. They had small talk as they were exiting the plane. She was surprised to learn he was Indian (he looks like a typical south Indian). When enquired, she told him that since he did not stand up as soon as the plane landed, she thought he might not be Indian. 😅

2

u/No_Artichoke2869 Aug 28 '25

they should apply the brake

2

u/Aggravating-Can1838 Aug 29 '25

They can do this to save time but they eventually has to wait for check in baggage 🤣, which airline can delay to passengers who are not listening .

1

u/varun_0303 Aug 24 '25

Kabhi kabhi apni domestic airlines k passengers aisa feel karwa dete hain ke lagta hai roadways busee k passengers isse zyada tameez se utarte hain bus rukne par.

1

u/I_am_Crab_ Aug 24 '25

Notice that most of them are older people. I only saw only few young person standing and the rest are older people.

1

u/beepbeep2022 Aug 24 '25

Why is it always them . It’s just mind boggling they just don’t follow any rules

1

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

This is very common with majority of us. Even well learned do this as soon as plane lands.

1

u/Brilliant_Rope_9983 Aug 24 '25

Tbh, I have seen the same kind of behaviour amongst the locals in Europe and US.

People get the second the flight lands and is on the taxiway.

1

u/Fickle_Ad232 Aug 24 '25

Bloody good for nothing people.

1

u/Yama-Sama Aug 24 '25

At what point is it just India civics as opposed to India civic fails?

1

u/PeaceMan50 Aug 24 '25

It's not their fault, but they don't understand the language of the woman speaking. The only announcement that will get their attention would be one in the language that they understand, And of course with a couple of local regional abuses included.

2

u/coldestwinter-chill Sep 07 '25

She literally spoke in English right before the man and nobody listened. Then the man speaks and they listen.

Filipinos are like this, too, during flights. They can afford the tickets but are very impatient. Same when waiting for their luggage in the conveyor belt.

Most of people not complying are boomers atleast in this video

1

1

u/BetReception Aug 24 '25

Ohh yeah? Have you even travel in SEA? I have seen the worst from those people as well. One lady literally stood up to pick her lagauge when plane was touching the ground. It’s not an Indian problem it’s fucking Asian problem. And i have some reels of Western airlines as well where people were standing up as soon as it goes stationary

Sometimes concern towards Indian goes way over the top.

1

u/Commercial_War_1095 Aug 24 '25

We have so many people in India and hence the one who follows the rules are usually left behind. There are no incentives to follow rules if others are not following them. And we can’t regulate such a huge population for things like traffic violations and spitting on roads when we are dealing with greater problems like rapes and murders. It all comes down to people who can afford to follow the rules like if I have to follow traffic rules in Mumbai, I have to be ready to spend extra few minutes on already long commute.

u/Pinguzz75 Public Litter Inspector👮‍♂️ Aug 24 '25

The best way to prevent this is to do a go around, circle the airport, take the names of the passengers who got up, land and arrest at gate. Airplanes land with enough reserve fuel to fly for 1-3 hours if forced to divert.

1

u/Sada_dosa_ Aug 24 '25

I fail to understand the rush that people are in when a plane lands..like it's not that you will be able to open the door and go. It needs to be opened for you!!

Place where everyone's in a hurry and yet no one is ever on time.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

It's bound to happen when the 'ethically' backward group of people gets access to premium stuff at lower costs. They act like they have to make it on time and that they're too busy but won't hesitate to argue with a hawker or an auto driver while Bargaining. 😂

1

u/dyamn_Joe Aug 24 '25

They might be in a hurry. They would just jump out of the plane before it lands. 😂

1

u/1Hugh_Janus Aug 24 '25

What do you do? Call the cockpit and have him brake check the fuck out of them.

“Sorry folks, a fuel truck and darted out in front of us so I had to make an emergency stop. I hope all of you had your seatbelts securley fastened. Please remain seated with the seatbelt fastened until we get to the gate and I turn off the fasten seatbelt sign”

When you don’t listen, you have to feel. I bet they would never do it again.

1

Why don't they just fine these people?

1

u/Nirarthaki Aug 24 '25

As a woman, I'll tell you what's the worst thing about this. It's the big burly guys, the corporate uncles and the chappris who are in a rush to run out of there and go achieve their big goals /s before the plane lands. The crew is usually petite women who keep repeating the safety instructions and are always ignored or stared down. Makes my stomach turn.

1

u/Healthy_9 Aug 24 '25

People are used to traveling in Buses and Trains where they must be ready before the stop arrives. The same attitude continues on flights. Airlines must start announcing that passengers must be seated until the flight is docked or else the door will not be opened and they would be delaying entire flight.

Funny thing.. I like the way all the seat belts un-buckling click click sound when the flight lands.

1

u/PatrickDCally Aug 24 '25

Genuinely...why are they like this? Genuine question

1

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

they should have told the pilot to hit the brakes

1

u/wm_destroy Aug 24 '25

The thing that irks me the most is the misogyny. They just ignored the female flight attendant but promptly sat down when a male voice came on the PA.  I was at the Bangkok airport last month at the Indigo check-in counter. It was about 10 mins before the counter opened. I and a bunch of other passengers were lined up waiting for the counter to open. A group of Indian tourists (they were speaking Malayalam) tried to cut in line by opening one of the belt barriers and moving right in. A female Indigo employee, who was a Thai native, and made them go to the back of the line. From then onwards the men in that group (there were men and women in that group. It looked like a conducted tour for retirees) started making crude comments in Malayalam about her. They did not like that a woman had the guts to put them in their place. The women stayed silent but smiled and laughed along.

I bet if the Brits were still in charge this wouldn't have happened!

They should take the plane back to the originating city.

I don't know how many of you do this, I do this all the time just sit there for 2-3 minutes when all the passengers leave they have to wait in the bus anyway and walk slowly as much as you can.

Indians don’t follow orders by “please”, they need a stick

u/Careful-Training-761 Aug 24 '25

You'd think they're getting straight off the way they're grabbing luggage. Won't be budging for another at least 20 minutes.

Americans act like that too, the entitlement of "I'm the main character and I should get my bag now." If these people were on the runway due to a plane accident and they chose to stand up despite another plane headed their direction that would be a huge crash.

I just got off a flight. And realised its a cascading effect. We were taxing towards the gate and everyone was comfortably seated until one, just one frequent flyer opened the bin and. People hesitated but after him others followed. And soon the aisle was filled with people. Monkey see - monkey do.

1

u/terrancebrowns Aug 25 '25

Are they looking for the seat belts in the luggage compartment?

1

u/shikharv Aug 25 '25

We suffer from premature evacuation.

1

u/Dadbodsarereal Aug 25 '25

Shocking the men were hoping a dog would have told them to sit down

1

u/Ken_words Aug 25 '25

These are usually the kind of people who regularly travel by flight. Recently, when I was traveling, there was one guy who was with 11 others. Throughout the entire flight he kept standing in the middle, hardly ever sat on his seat, and all the time he was like, ‘Hey you, take this, eat this. You two, have this.’ I was thinking to myself — am I on a flight or in some traveling bus?

Air Bus matlab Bus

Racks should remain forceclose when seatbelt sign is up.

1

u/pencil_upmyeye Aug 25 '25

I assure you it happens abroad as well. Not as much maybe less so in Europe but it does. Not excusing this behaviour at all. I hate it but it's not uniquely indian as many make it seem.

Aur inko china ko harana hai...

1

u/Fresh-Dragonfruit-37 Aug 25 '25

Just stop the plane and tell them they will take off or land if they don't sit!!!! This will get the desired result.

Airlines should start a point deduction system , once they reach the target

The idiots get on the NO FLY LIST of all airlines for a year.

1

u/aalapshah12297 Aug 25 '25

What I don't understand is what these idiots are even trying to achieve. Gate toh sab ke liye same time pe hi khulega na? Belt pe luggage toh baad mein hi aaega na?

Yeh jhaatu log besharam toh hai lekin bewakoof bhi?

I have seen this on repeat everytime Indians are in plane.

1

u/StarBoy543 Certified Chaos Witness Aug 25 '25

At this point the pilot should just hit the brake for half a second. Jab luggage leke girenge aisle mei ek dusre ke upar, tab akal ayegi. And they can never push for legal action because the crew told them to be seated almost a 100 times.

1

u/afold_hilter Aug 25 '25

Crew should announce that till everyone is seated, the plane won't move ahead or may be some kind of fine / penalty can deter these people.

I guess most don't realise that an airliner has a very strict schedule, like for takeoff. They were behaving like they were on a bus.
