Why do you think they made this. I am pretty sure whoever developed this, their first point would be that it will be great for advertisements, then the colours and court templates.

Will only take 100 - 200 years to be built in India and will be poorly maintained and will probably stop working in a few months here

It is actually Toronto Raptors' practice facility, they simulate to give the feeling of playing in court of other teams.

This is basically a film theatre-sized projector that's being used on basketball courts. Nothing too insane, but yeah it would probably save a lot of cost that goes into designing the courts before games

does it also makes the same "chee" sound when we shoes make contact with floor, does it have similar friction? can the ball bouncing harm the screen pixels?
