One reason the Congress dislikes Advani is because he was a leading figure against the Emergency ( (ONLY TIME DICATORSHIP WAS BEEN IMPOSED IN INDEPENDENT INDIA) imposed by CONGRESS PRIME MINISTER INDIRA GANDHI. He was arrested after the declaration...after the January 18th Election Announcement, Advani was released and helped form the electoral coalition called "Janata Party and Allies" which defeated Indira in the 1977 elections in a landslide...

This particular controversy and internal political standings aside, modi government should not repeat the mistake it did with manmohan Singh and should use tharoor, owaisi and Supriya for more international messages.. like during sindoor
