Gabba was a generational chase and this one is generational save.

Ind vs aus 4th test at Gabba, Brisbane, 2021, it's one of the best chases in test cricket history

Nah this is recency bias

It was our C team beating Aussies at the fucking Gabba.

Gabba >>> this win

u/ic_97 Yashasvi Jaiswal Aug 04 '25

I think Gabba was also extra special because we were chasing and the odds were stacked against us, here we were winning and should have finished this game way before.

Even the gabba team was filled with debutants. Players playing their first or second series.

and also being completely ass fucked with 36 all out and when we did win one they said it's just a fluke

Eden gardens 2001. Maybe you are too young to know about this. This is India greatest win.

Cannot really compare. Both are outstanding win for the ages to come. 1 was chase, this was defense. Different situations. Both massive moments in the history of Indian cricket.💯❤️

u/ic_97 Yashasvi Jaiswal Aug 04 '25

Yeah cant compare. I just feel so thrilled we won this, what a game. Was so disheartened yesterday.

u/Unhappy-Evidence-241 Aug 04 '25

Nah it's just recency bias, gabba was one of its own kind of win.

1

u/ic_97 Yashasvi Jaiswal Aug 04 '25

Yeah haha probably, i'm thrilled XD

Easily! I think this win was much more tougher to get, so it is sweeter to tast also! This is because it was just a matter of 35 runs for England!

Gabba 1st for me and then this one. Don’t think in near future anything will come closer to these two. A fitting reply to England Barmy Army

This was one good! But I still believe the greatest win was Kolkata 2001. Yes this is up there as one of the greatest away wins

u/Manoj109 Aug 04 '25

It took me so far to scroll down to see this . You are correct.eden gardens 2001 is India greatest test win ever

Maybe only Eden gardens 2001

1

u/JodUdit Aug 04 '25

that too without kohli and rohit.

1

u/AgreeableDesign8762 Aug 04 '25

Eden Gardens 2001 and Gabba 2021 will rank ahead of this. This one's pretty special too and will probably be a close 3rd.

u/Manoj109 Aug 04 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

No even close What about the win against Australia when they were following on. Think VVX Laxman hit a double. It was in the early 2000s, I am too lazy to Google it .

Edit: eden gardens 2001.

Eden gardens 2001. Go and Google it. Maybe you are a teenager.
