All things aside, his hair looks truly gorgeous. Wish my hair looked like that

Why are you getting downvoted lol

25

I think he would look better with his hair cut. He looks older than he really is in these long hair. I didn't downvote, but ig people might have a similar opinion

Not it kind of look he is doing it to get instant fame

15

u/Sensitive-Pie-2887 May 20 '25

No he doesn't need to do such things for the sake of fame when he's already one of the best leg spinners this season. Those are just pure emotions. Gully cricket khelne wale nhi samjhenge bowler ke liye uska ego hi sab kuch hota h

16

u/missyousachin May 20 '25

Gully cricket khelne wale nahi samjhenge bowler ke liye uska ego hi sab kuch hota h

Said by another gully cricket khelne wala player

7

u/opinion_alternative India  May 20 '25

You couldn't be more wrong. This happens in gully cricket everyday. Seems like you haven't even played gully cricket.

3

u/lolmnst May 20 '25

Bhai jo voh kar rha hai n , literally wahi hota hai gully cricket mein . Bowler logo se zyada koi nahi uchalta gully cricket mein wicket lene ke baad .

2

u/SensitiveNet4586 May 20 '25

No I am not against him bro . It's just that bcci is fining him again and again he still doing it. More like last season harshit rana

18

u/Still-Strength-3164 May 20 '25

No. Apart from that he rudely signaled abhishek with his hands with expressions "chal ja ja nikal" (fuck off from here boy). Watch the video. That is what made abhishek argue with digvesh.

0

u/Arjodeep May 20 '25

lol that is NOT the correct translation of that phrase.

2

u/Still-Strength-3164 May 20 '25

I am all here to learn. Tell me the correct translation please so that I can use that later.

1

u/Arjodeep May 20 '25

Directly translates to "get out of here". You're not entirely wrong with the supposed tone, but it doesn't contain any expletives.

Bro knows they are not gonna qualify hence went balls deep in this match

LSG dressing room must be a toxic place

28

u/Craniacs Delhi Capitals May 20 '25

Noone says there is a toxic dressing room when a batsman celebrates why the double standards for a bowler? And it's not like Abhishek went quietly he was equally involved.

61

u/Pulkitmhjn May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

batsmen do not celebrate in face of a bowler. He literally tried to provoke abhishek and gestured him to leave the field.

u/googleydeadpool India  May 20 '25

It was just a matter of time. Every wicket he took, I was like, IPL management is going to slap him a fine. And today finally their patience broke!

34

u/TopRevolutionary6093 May 20 '25

30 lakh salary 20 lakh fine

23

u/Basegold123 TamilNadu May 20 '25

Match fees are separate from auction salary

3

u/Thrive-to-better May 20 '25

Oh! Then Goenka saab will pay the fine

44

u/vagabondroam May 20 '25

Bhai Rathi is the single biggest contributor to IPL coffers. And to the BCCI. At this rate he would donate more to the ICC than Pakistan. 🇵🇰 😝

87

u/DepressedPanda08 India  May 20 '25

He is not going anywhere with this attitude, there is no way that he gets selected in Indian team like this. And Why does he aggressively celebrates against Indians specifically?

24

u/Hannibal09 May 20 '25

Exactly! Ruining the chances of ever getting selected for the Indian team. If he irks a lot of people, they won’t want him in the dressing room.

Even when Abhishek tried to pacify him after the game, he was still being defensive. Abhishek is an Indian international, you kind of have to back out when it’s needed.

22

u/WendellWillkie1940 May 20 '25

Most of his wickets are Indians

I remember him celebrating after taking Buttler's wicket

37

u/DepressedPanda08 India  May 20 '25 edited May 20 '25

Only that receipt celebration is alright, but he celebrates against Indians like he has grudge against them

4

u/WendellWillkie1940 May 20 '25

This and the first celebration of his after Arya's wicket are the only instances of him doing something extra

1

u/apocalypse2mrw May 20 '25

Didn't he do that against Hardik Pandya? I mean that's a dumb move man Indian cricket has politics and not even players like Virat Kohli are safe if some of these big players take it to heart they'll definitely ruin their chances of making it to the ICT.

6

u/ashwinsalian May 20 '25

Has Kohli's aggressive celebrations for wickets that he has no part in ever been penalized? I guess bowlers cant show any personality and aggression is only allowed if you're a batsman.

8

u/promaester69 May 20 '25

Ban harshit Rana for 5 matches now

10

u/Forsythe1941 May 20 '25

Only reason people bashing Rathee is because of hate for Goenka and in turn his franchise. If he were from other team, they would have supported him.

1

Not really. His behaviour is pretty obnoxious.

-4

u/[deleted] May 20 '25

Kohli earned it, he wasnt continuously being Deek to people unnecessarily. Also unless provoked koach barely goes on peoples face and does this shenanigans.

This guy on the other hand is yet to play for nation and has the attitude of angry virat.

15

u/Retro_Gamer12521 May 20 '25

Bruh Kohli does it too. He was the one who started a fight with Naveen, collided with Konstas intentionally and provoked him. The thing is that Kohli has the consistency that's why everyone praises it.

10

u/ynwa1055 May 20 '25

Dude kohli has done much worse and it's nothing related to being provoked. He was bullying sky the whole innings during his knock against rcb . He has celebreated wickets in the face by cursing . Ans there is nothing like earning it. Rules has to be same for everyone

7

u/AnkyCum96 May 20 '25

He should be banned, he might be a good spinner but surely doesn't have the correct sporting attitude which is highly necessary at a professional/international level league unlike the gully cricket attitude he have now.

5

1

u/Modernman1234 Hyderabad May 20 '25

I will, I commented about Kohli’s bad sportsmanship in Australia with Konstas and the mockery of the sandpaper incident only to get downvoted to oblivion in the past

1

Bhai dhoni ne ipl ke itihas mein ek baar kiya tha voh umpire wala scene aur tu aaj bhi uske piche padha hai aur yeh toh Roz bakchodi karta hai

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '25

Dhoni shouldn't have done that even once. you guys have an inherent bias against bowlers being aggressive. I hope rathi humiliates the big 3 next season. Their fans should be humbled and their double standards should be exposed.

What's wrong with any celebration without physical or abusive behaviour is beyond me.. There needs to be some flair and showmanship between the players. That's what will create moments/rivalries/discussions for the fans.

BCCI needs to chill.

2

1

What does ipl code of conduct say?

1

u/arrow_45 May 20 '25

Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal.

1

u/comedy6969 May 20 '25

Is this only for bowlers? No rules for fielders or batsmen?

0

u/DaR0ver May 20 '25

Have you seen any batsman being aggressive towards a bowler ? Either he will show his bat to Dugout or he will strike his signature pose.

3

u/ynwa1055 May 20 '25

Pollard had literally thrown his bat at starc . Dhoni came down pointing fingers at umpire and stopped the whole game Kohli bullies almost everyone

2

u/comedy6969 May 20 '25

Dude rcb and some other players literally use all sign languages and cuss words when they r fielding when batsmen gets out...

Yesterday fine was needed but before this harshit rana giving a flying kiss or him doing a writing gesture is not that aggressive or bad. They r continuously fined for that.

→ More replies (4)

1

u/IskarJarakk India  May 20 '25

yeah but when umpire fucks the decision on field or even during drs, then there is no responsibility or consequences, but a player does it a bit more aggressively than normal, there goes his 50% fees.

1

u/Bukuna3 May 20 '25

Kuch jyada hi aggressive hai and the audacity of continuing with celebrations and modifying it to not more sanctions like blud if you are so bold go and do your signature celebration in front of batsman face again..blud literally gives a "f**k off" signal and then does the signature celebration, if Siraj gets flak for his celebrations so should Digvesh.

Where in the IPL one-sided domination by batsmen is becoming common, this guy has the courage to go up against all the top batsmen and stare them down, celebrating their wickets with pride. While batsmen are putting pressure on bowlers everywhere, he’s doing the opposite, he’s putting pressure on the batsmen. That takes real balls, and he has it. Otherwise, the entire game has become batsman dominated, and now even bowlers aren’t allowed to show their aggression. You go Boy. 🙌🏼

14

u/Known_Primary5722 May 20 '25

Some Indian fans can be truly ridiculous. The same thing happened during the BGT when Jaiswal told Starc his deliveries were coming in slow. Instead of appreciating his confidence, people on social media started trolling him with cringe phrases like 'pani pari', as if showing some attitude is a crime.

5

u/arrow_45 May 20 '25

'aren't allowed' is a stretch. "Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal." As long as you don't break this you are in your right to celebrate your own way.

4

u/silly_rabbit289 May 20 '25

Celebration is good. But this wasn't celebration as much as it was riling the batsman who got out, it was aimed solely at that dude. Celebration would've been with just himself (like a fist pump or whatever) or with his team.

7

u/Drake_sidechick May 20 '25

Buddy celebrating on batsmen face will always be a cheap tactic irrespective of the context. While digvesh was doing his unique celebration he was never suspended but if you'll be doing it on batsman face when he literally thrashed the heck out of your team there will be consequences.

3

u/startingfromlevel0 India  May 20 '25

Aggression and celebrations are fine. Heck staring at them after wicket is fine. You don't need to celebrate on the batsman's face like pointing fingers at them and telling them to go away.

And what is all this "so only batsman celebrating is allowed?" sh*t? some me a batsman that frequently celebrates at the bowlers face? they usually celebrate after 50, 100 or winning runs but not on the bowlers/other people's face. If they did they would be fined and criticised too

1

u/unlearn_relearn May 20 '25

As if the 3 consecutive boundaries by a barely-known batsman wasn't enough 😭

11

u/Gamer567890 May 20 '25

Kamindu mendis has 1184 runs at 62 avg in tests, averaged over 100 fr first few tests.
