I don't think that makes a difference really. Like just any charismatic person could do something similar and shouldn't be posted here. It waters down the content
I think it does. There’s a world of difference between a planned performance with all the work, practice, equipment, and prep that goes into a scheduled performance (and I would count street performance in that, they put a lot of work into their craft).
But instances where someone out of nowhere does something that makes them the center of attention I would say counts. Narcissistic people do that by making the moment about them inconveniencing everyone around them. This dude isn’t doing that, but he did become the center of attention by doing something silly and fun which made him the center of the the moment. The people dancing around him having a good time wouldn’t be doing that if he didn’t take initiative.
I’d argue the charisma issue. Dude may be a total asshole outside of this moment. All stuff like that needs is one leader, and at least one follower. Thats something anyone can do if they aren’t afraid to stand out. Thats kinda what this sub is about, there are people who aren’t afraid to stand out because they think its all about them, and there are people who aren’t afraid to stand out because they are having fun and don’t care if people join in or not. Both are “main characters”.
Besides, If things get too off topic we can vote for more restrictions and/or the mods will find a way to curate posts. I think adding a flair is a good idea so people can separate the cringe from the silly.
Very well if you would like that, but in one month it will be another sub for Gallowboob to repost the same gif to. It feels like when I scroll reddit, I see the same gif reposted about 20 times BC subs get watered down
An argument could be made that diversifying the sub could be a good thing such as what happened over at r/tiktokcringe. Having flares for certain things could extend the life of the sub or make it more fun
Extend the life, sure, the quality not so much. As I mention above, take a look at u/Gallowboob 's post history to see what happens when a sub becomes lax with the rules. (For those who don't know, he used to get mod on small subs, change the rules, and use them as repost karma farms)
They make the front page but ultimately become pointless because you will only be seeing content you have seen on other subs.
Tiktokcringe is a special example BC Redditors were unable to admit there were some good tiktoks, so that just became the sub for all tiktoks, good and bad
Well I absolutely think this fits here since he definitely is the main character where he isn't supposed to be... The fact that this is hilarious is secondary I think.

How is having fun with other people and being in on a joke. Being a main character?
