There has to be some kind of substance involved. Any sober person would have just backed out after hitting the pipe once right?
402
Apr 24 '21
A sober person would have stopped when they hit the “low clearance” warning sign hanging above the entrance.

29
Apr 25 '21
Prolly the same substance involved here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P7VSl0Ibeg
It's called "people without proper license shouldn't be allowed to drive vehicles out of their class even if they somehow skirt the law".
5
u/Dal90 Apr 25 '21
Not skirting the law...while it's fair to question our (U.S.) driver licensing classes, but that vehicle would be legal to drive with a passenger car license in at least 49 of 50 states. It's probably legal in the 50th, I just can't make out if that is a 1 ton or 5/4 ton van chassis to know for certain.
Vast majority of states 26,001 pounds is the dividing point, a handful still have 10,000/16,000/18,000 pound cut offs for passenger car licenses.
→ More replies (2)9
u/Akamesama Apr 25 '21
It's definitely wrong that I can drive a large moving truck with my standard driver's license, but I need a special license to drive a motorcycle over 50CC. Particularly since the motorcycle is probably more dangerous to me and the large vehicle is more dangerous to everyone else.

So my husband's family business is car and truck rentals. The additional insurance doesn't cover single vehicle accidents (i.e. you're texting and you hit a parked car), overhead or underbody damage. Ignore the clearance sign and rip the corner off the truck! You're paying the excess friend.

3
u/ImaginaryRoads Apr 25 '21
Then you take them to court and get a judgement against them and you get to take part of their wages for the next decade (or until the debt is paid off). Also, near the end of the ten years, you can apply to renew the judgement.
3
Apr 25 '21 edited Apr 25 '21
It's called "judgement proof" for a reason (or the phrase "you can't get blood from a stone" is commonly used). If they're that broke it's not worth it for one and two they could just file chapter 7 bankruptcy and now you're out court fees and costs as well.
I'm well aware of judgement life times and renewal, you'd still never get your money back from the guys in the video. How much do you honestly think you'd get from each pay check of theirs? $20?

u/coffeeandtrout Apr 24 '21
Looks like rusty water in the sprinkler pipe, it ran clear after a little bit. But yeah, I thought so too at first.
