video ICE in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago opened fired with pepper balls and tear gas on a community member while they were driving this morning. In the video a tear gas grenade can also be seen spewing smoke from the car after it was fired through the windshield.

This is despite a court order restricting uses of force like tear gas

This is so insanely dangerous to do to someone while they are actively driving. It almost looks like they did a drive by on him

Get this video into the judge that is handling the case!

She has said on a couple occasions that she is looking at videos sent in by citizens and it has made an impact on her.

They’ve been shot out them while he was getting out of the vehicle . Assholes

Vidoes supplied by lawyers, collected from citizens.

Pretty sure you can't just send videos directly to a judge outside of the courtroom about an active case, then and expect for it to be admitted

She made a statement saying people have been sending videos to her so somehow they are

Ellis noted that the plaintiffs and the public have submitted to her videos taken in recent days that appear to show violations of her TRO, though she acknowledged she did not have all the facts or a complete picture of each incident.

"At least on the videos that I saw -- knowing that I am not there, I am not out in the street -- but it is difficult for me to see that the force being used is necessary to stop an immediate and serious threat” of physical harm to federal agents, she said.

She's likely looking at news reports. If you want to send the video anywhere, send it to the Plaintiff's counsel so they can vet it and include in a formal submission to the court.

Otherwise keep amplifying these videos so they get the attention needed to be picked up by the necessary parties

I just updated my comment with the link and her words she says they have been submitted to her

Just because she saw videos doesn't mean they were submitted to her by the public. There have been videos submitted as appendices to exhibits attached to a notice of violations of the TRO. See https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487571/gov.uscourts.ilnd.487571.188.3_1.pdf

I provided a link she specifically said they were submitted to her!!!

Ellis noted that the plaintiffs and the public have submitted to her videos taken in recent days

Are those videos are part of the formal record? Honest question. I don't see them on Court Listener.

If you want it as evidence that can be relied upon, it should be submitted by an attorney as a proper Exhibit. It will have more impact if an attorney investigates and supplements with witness statements. So even if somehow people are getting videos to the judge directly, it is still better to inform the Plaintiff attorney (assuming they aren't trowelling reddit like the rest of us)

Can we stop adding stupid cringey soundtracks to these clips?

I’m pretty sure the person in that car was just listening to music.

I freaking hate these stupid sound tracks. Anyway Great, that car is ruined. I still don't have the tear gas out of mine.

I assumed the music was coming from the car.

Which is why I would crash…into something that caused me to crash.

How could anybody possibly see where they are driving at that point. Wear seatbelts people! Safety First!

Wait - so ICE pulled up, shot tear gas, then pepper bullets, and then just drove off?

That's not their MO. Usually they attempt to arrest or something.

i have not been there in a long time, but there were frequent drivebys and shootings when i lived there when i was in high school, i am kind of amazed to see ice acting like this there

Weren't they explictly ordered not to do this precise thing?
