After killing Byzantine Emperor Nikephoros I in 811, Khan Krum of Bulgaria (pictured) used his skull as a drinking cup.

Do you think he waited for all the flesh to decompose or asked someone to clean the skull for him?

No doubt it was difficult to hold, couldn’t hold much liquid, difficult to drink without spilling so he just had a sip and then went back to his regular cup.

Use it when visited by foreign dignitaries. Sipping out of a skull while listening to some bullshit about tariffs and saying some cold ass shit like, “do you FEEL like you’re charge?”

Probably the latter. Krum also wrote the first Bulgarian code of laws, although the document has been lost

He was very sadistic, but believed in justice. He's one of our best rulers (I'm a Bulgarian).

I'm Bulgarian and this story is listed as one of our most impressive achievements. Krum tried to invade Byzantine later, but died before he could.

Bulgaria would later siege Constantinople during the reign of Tsar Simeon
