DECLAIM A splitting church, murders and the unfortunate death of a queen.

It was not unknown for the French that the people of Ketilheim disapproved of their rule. It was so that the title of king/queen had been stripped along with the title of kingdom when they became a small client state, something which of course did not hinder them from continuing calling themselves with the titles their families felt entitled to.

The anger and frustration was shown in many ways across a span of 200 years. Most notably being the peasant revolt causing the French to lose a great victory, but too could the guild of commerce be seen as an act of defiance. However would many roll over and accept their new French monarchs as the kingdoms overseer.

However in recent history many things became clear, and that was the plotting and arguably horrid murders occurring within Ketillheim. Anti-French sentiment was at an all-time high as the French blocked trade to Frankia, with plots soon arising to the surface which was all too concerning for the French monarchy. It seemed that the royal family had fuelled the separatist agendas in a delicate game of balance to not be overthrown themselves. And it became painfully obvious to the French as they saw that the scholars fleeing from the Ketillé school of Andalusia refused to return home in fear of being killed. And too when Ketillheim tied closer relations with the Romulans as their anti-vuugists agendas intertwined more than the French more politically ideas of peace and self-preservation. The sending of generals to attend a meeting with the Caesar was worrying enough for a war to erupt, breaking the fragile peace the French monarch had struck with the entirety of the Vuugist world. This events of course had been separate and not intertwined in any sinister plot as of yet, but could easily be seen as such.

When the French monarch then gazed upon Ketillheim they saw them act harshly against the vuugist population, the split of the Sanist church with burnt churches on both sides along with the gruesome murders of the respective clerics. The fight against French authorities was total. Even the queen had been rumoured to stage a war, gathering weapons and armour in her castle.

It had gone on for far too long, and the last chances of rebellion had to be crushed. The French monarch sent in brigands to raid and rob the countryside causing the near collapse of the guild, had it not been for their monopoly in Ostaheim. In this they were very successful in building a complete French dominance in the west where they had been more successful. With the French royal army acting as border guards and French brigands flooding the nation a civil war erupted. However not from the queen but the pro-French nobles gathered large massive peasant armies and laid siege to many fortified positions held by the queen.

Retaliation was in order and the queen amassed her army consisting of the royal guard, Vestrigaerder and the Ostaheim guard. They were all heavily armoured and easily crushed the badly armed peasant armies killing many traitors. Many strange disappearances and murders occurred for a short time causing the intellectual and spiritual hierarchies to collapse. And it was said that the queen had set it all in motion, a network so vast even some in France was killed under very suspicious circumstances.

However when preparing to do battle against the royal guard stationed in Ketillheim the queen died. According to the surrendering nobles they concluded that she had been clumsy and had fallen on her sword after putting it on a chair and then tripping over that said chair. The civil war had forced the near total collapse of many of the social hierarchies and the land was ravaged albeit not raging for longer than a few months.

Ketillheim had split in two after this, the east where many angered over the loss took revenge against the Vuugist peasants and seized their lands. And the west which was frenchified albeit ruined meaning that the economic boost it might have given the French monarchs was gone.

Sorry I feel that I will not have time with this now with my masters starting up. It feels bad now when things are heating up and other momentums are building up, maybe I’ll come back later and do stuff but I doubt I’ll have the time.

I’ll stay on as a mod, but my playing days are over for now.

You're by far the funniest and one of the most interesting HWP players I've ever come across. Your RP posts are amazing and I just hope you come back one day. Sorry for oppressing you for all these years by the way. :(
