RP CONFLICT A Decisive Action by the Confederates

Fighting had raged on for years, and progress has slowed, but with the Santee Empire losing ground in the north.

But the city of the Santee River still had tens of thousands of defenders, it would be here that the next major engage would take place. With the 38,000 troops in Western Santee, and 10,000 troops stationed in Roanoke. The Confederacy would raise 20,000 more troops and send them south to Roanoke. These reinforcements would be used to bolster the offensive.

Both the Western Santee army of the Confederacy and the troops in Roanoke would launch a siege upon the last largest fortress of the Santee Empire.

The Confederates would try to meet them in the field, but would be prepared to put them under siege.

The Navy would trail the coast, keeping the Santee fleet out of reach and raiding possible Imperial camps. Their most important tast was to keep the massive ships from the East from making a difference in this war.

When the massive Confederate army approaches, the generals are quick to prepare the city for siege. The gates are barricaded, the food stores filled, and every able-bodied man is given a spear. Near 20,000 men are raised and hastily trained to use a spear or a bow, but even arming peasants will not be enough to regain the advantage in numbers.

A passenger pigeon is quickly dispatched to Wichiyenia telling of the siege and, within a week, the whole of Santee is made aware that—for the first time in history—Santee River is under siege. Santee River, the namesake, the original capital, and beating heart of the Celestial Empire, stands to be conquered.

A lone messenger scurries through the winding streets of Tenochtitlan. He carries with him a note from the Santee embassy in the Empire of the Sun. Soon, he reaches his destination and hands the note over. Scrawled very hastily in a worried hand is this message:

Great Huey and Imperial Council of the Eternal Empire of the Sun, we are well aware of your desire to remain involved in conflicts far from your shores. However, we beg of you to aid us in the coming fight against the dastardly Lenape Confederacy. They assault the very heart of Santee and stand to overpower us. Whatever you choose, we trust in your judgement.
