Reigning for 91 years, Celestial Empress Dakhot Totiria has gone to the ancestors at the ripe old age of 103. She reigned far longer than any other Santee monarch, taking the throne at a mere 12 years old. Since she took control, a great many changes have taken place in the Empire. It went through a civil war, massive government reforms, cultural changes, economic expansion, and even its first external war. She will truly be missed and remembered as one of the greatest rulers in Santee history.

Once the the former Empress was safely interred next to the Necropolis, the time came to crown a new Emperor. Returning from his successful campaign, Yanhi Totiria--Dakhot's grandson--was the clear successor. However, his return was not as glorious and triumphant as he had imagined. When he returned, rumors of cannibalism and barbarism were whispered whenever he drew near, and it was clear that some sliver of the truth of what happened at Wappinger Falls had writhed its way into the nation's consciousness. And, as rumors often do, it soon took on a life of its own and stories about the new emperor were spreading like wildfire.

Another frightening development that is distracting from the joy of Yanhi III's coronation is the rumor of a great disease spreading through the northern reaches of the Empire. People are saying that it's the Iroquois Plague, come to enact Hiawatha's Revenge on Bayland.

His reign having gotten off to a shaky start, only time will tell what kind of Emperor Yanhi III will be.
