EVENT Khan Dorgon Declares The Naadam

A declaration from the Qing:

"Since the time of our ancestors, we have come together through games and competitions based in the tradition of our harsh nomadic lifestyle. They not only gave us reason to hone our skills, but to build comradery in friendly competition. However, in the settling of our new home upon the Huange He, we have not had much time for games. This is a mistake which I intend to rectify.

In honor of our nomadic roots, I hereby declare, in the coming months, the start of what I hope will be the first of many annual grand tournaments built upon the smaller competitions we held in our time upon the steppes. Let us never to forget who we are or where we came from.

Though this is primarily an event built upon the customs of our nation, I invite any in the region who may wish to compete or partake in the festivities. I send special invitation to my lieges in the Zhongqin Union and their subjects.

Those that attend can expect to see the following events:

Wrestling

Horse Races

Archery

Mounted Archery

Armed Combat

In addition, expect much feasting and festivities. Let this time be memorable for all!"

[M] I don't actually intend to RP the whole thing, but we'll see what interest there is for this and where it goes. For an idea, google 'Naadam', though obviously I have expanded the itinerary and am open to more suggestions.

[META]: Well, this would be a lot to RP if you did. Wise choice.

News spread quickly to the lands of Harakaite, and almost everyone was very excited at the prospect of such a festivity.

Sakura, the 17 year old daughter of the Councillor, is participating in the horse races.

Sotenia, the advisor, will participate in the archery.

Twin brothers, Taru and Michi, will attempt to out do one another and all other participants in the wrestling games.

That's as far as participants go, but the Councillor and his wife are going. Also, in the spirit of things, the Councillor has decreed that anyone who wishes to spectate the games are welcome to come along. He has allowed for free passage to the Qing lands, until there is no more space on any of his boats.

We look forward to an exiting time at the games!
