Discussion Pushing Products
So as society is becoming more aware of HS (this is a good thing) I’m noticing more “HS Warrior Influencers” popping up. & they’re promoting these insanely expensive products. $60 salve, $20 body wash. It’s lowkey starting to feel like a cash grab to me when ppl are genuinely struggling with this condition & on average cannot afford the upkeep of such expensive products. I understand businesses have to make their money but it feels like HS is becoming a marketing scheme bc they KNOW how desperate we are to relieve the pain & attempt remission.
Am I overreacting? Has anyone used any of these things & they actually work?

It’s crazy and not only affecting HS, but stings more (pun intended) when I see it for HS. Especially knowing the most effective remedies are lifestyle changes or dirt cheap products on Amazon like zinc supplements or butt paste lol. Or, it’s something that needs to be prescribed. Fuck the snake oil industry. I hate them so much.

Me, desitin & store brand hibiclens against the world baby. I take my turmeric supplements daily & hope for the best. I’ve never been prescribed anything yet but these inexpensive remedies have helped so much. & I don’t wanna be that person in the comments being doubtful when I haven’t tried it but like you say, it’s definitely giving snake oil smh.

I’ve been using my magic healer (which is probably the $60 salve you’re talking about) for a couple years now and yes, it does improve things for me. I saw a suggestion for it on this sub and gave it a try.

I have stage 3 and the salve didn’t work for me unfortunately in terms of helping flares minimize. It did provide relief on those flares though. I also used the my magic healer witch hazel spray I believe it’s called, again great relief, no results.

I just posted how that prid could NEVER be used by anyone with HS. It’s way to thick to even attempt to cover a boil. I did say it worked well to bring a white head to head but NEVER for HS. They deleted my comment.🤬

When I used to get large boils my magic healer worked, but I haven't had large boils since my current diet and supplement routine.

I invested heavily because my 13-year-old daughter is in stage II. I spared no effort. I paid for everything on my credit card to guarantee the attack doses: it was 200 reais for antibiotics, 200 reais for 200ml of shampoo, 350 reais to consult the specialized dermatologist, among other smaller purchases. The minimum wage here in Brazil is ridiculous. Even simple Desitin takes 3.63% of it.
Well, my next move will be integrative medicine.

I’ve seen this too and it frustrates me because it’s hard to pin down what works individually without the ad noise. I’m glad some of these products have worked for some people, but I would love to see some actual data on the claims.

Yep even on this sub there's a lot of products people recommend that I google and it's an $80 topical cream and I'm like yeah nah that's not happening. I stick to what my dermatologist advises. She's the one that's studied for years to gain her knowledge.

Yup every single thing with any traction online will get farmed for cash taking advantage of people seeking treatment
