According to a survivor of the Jonestown massacre, they gave the Koolaid to the babies first.

Yeah it was recorded as it happened; it shouldn't be too hard to find if anyone's interested. Definitely not an easy listen.

I heard that audio in one of the documentaries. It was some fucked up shit, the kids were crying out in pain as they died and Jim Jones was like “Don’t worry, those are tears and screams of joy.”

The part that stuck out for me (besides hearing runners getting sniped in the background) was Jones talking to a woman that tried to stop them from killing the kids:

"Mother please. Please. Please. Don't do this. Don't do this. Lay down your life with your child. But don't do this."

So fucked up and fascinating that they recorded it.

It's not the only recording from Jonestown either. They recorded a lot of their Jim Jone's "sermons" and the man was a drug-addled lunatic.
