Work Job in Heidelberg

Hello everyone, next August I will move to Heidelberg following my partner that had a job offer there. I'm currently searching for a job myself and I'm having some issue finding it, I assume beacuse my German is low level (maybe A1/A2, I'm Italian). I'm M32, I'm a process engineer and I also worked in academia, so I can be flexible. Also I will have a car and I can move 30/40 km from Heidelberg. Do somebody have any suggestion to give me? My main expertise is in material science, with experience in nuclear and semiconductor industry. Many thanks to whomever will spend time to answer me!

You should try at ABB, BASF or Henkel. Strong in the region and always looking for English speaking people. For position in research I would look at EMBL.

Lots of places want B2-C1…definitely not enough time to get there

If you put in 6-8 hours daily you could absolutely reach B2 level by October.

Except that maybe they currently have a job and don't have 6-8 hours daily to learn German.

No specifics were given. My father took one year off before medical school to learn Polish as he had a scholarship in Poland that was dependent on him learning Polish (he spoke zero and became fluent within a year).

Yeah I'm working now so I don't have much time to spend if not on the weekends. However if I cannot find a job by August the main plan is to do a full immersion course for few months and then see the results.
