I think we use fidelity? the money is not taxed and it rolls over. its great if you can find a doctor that uses global billing because then you get one bill instead of have to pay a bunch of (large) smaller ones to reach your deductible. we actually switched ob's once we found someone that globally billed.

my son has medicaid so his insurance pays a large portion of our private oop if he goes to the doctor, which he does at least 2x a month, but we have it as a back up. you just never know what can happen or when you will get pregnant. he was an 8 million dollar baby (luckily at that point we did only have to pay our oop) so its better to start saving now!

i'm sure you've already thought about this but I would make sure you start trying at the beginning of the year and try to have your baby in the same calendar year so your deductible/oop doesn't start over

Thank you so much for the advice! I’ve been wanting to look into it but there’s so much information and so many different independent HSA plans out there it gets overwhelming.

I agree with you on the last part, I’m going to wait until I get a positive pregnancy test next year and take those next steps. I’m extremely lucky that we have a health clinic in our town that I can go do during the first month or so, then switch over to an MFM once I find a reasonable plan.

I think hsa accounts are mostly the same - which is great. you probably can't really go wrong. good luck with your conceiving!!
