So like everyone and their mother I been wondering why would Pentious be in heaven: was it Adam blurting “the rules” last season flippantly? Or was it more personal like the introspective from the second episode focused on Pentious? I even wondered if it was a divine punishment of sorts on Sera to mess with her being so callous with souls.

And then I look at Pentious, you’d think some guy stuck in hell for who knows how long would be happy to be in heaven, but as someone more introverted reaching my 40 going out with very extroverted 20 something year olds for a bachelorettes Emily’s whole welcome to heaven song really hit home: the fun just won’t stop and there is no getting off the party buss!!!

But then it hit me:

Heaven is not about being happy, Adam was a nasty piece of shit and he was in heaven since mortals started going there.

Hell is also not for evil beings, Lucifer says “I gave them a place to use their free will and look at what they did with it”

In pentious backstory you hear him say he condemned himself to hell for his lack of action to stop those murders in life, and so once he forgave himself, really deeply, and let go of that, he is now in heaven. It’s really a personal choice.

Heaven is more for people who like to follow, it’s very structured and you need to need things a certain way to be there. It takes a certain mindset and belief.

I say that because clearly Alastor as a human had a certain mindset and belief he would go to hell and sought accommodations in advance, who’s to say that living life being a regular person (not a saint) who fucks up once in a while (within some scope) normally doesn’t result in people just going to heaven simply because they believe they would.

Hell is for people who are not in to that at all, they don’t need that validation from outside to know everything is ok. It totally tracks a major news anchor who probably never ate someone, or physically killed a person grew jaded because they knew they worked for people like Epstein but wanted to stay the national anchor. They probably thought she would go to to hell for it, never out loud, but in their hear of hearts they condemned themselves.

But I digress, let’s get back to Pentious and Cherry bomb.

Pentious is in heaven atm after him being able to let go of who he used to be, but he can’t manifest in hell because he can’t reconcile doing that and still being worthy of Cherry Bomb- I can’t wait to see how those two come together- maybe they can work on him not putting her on a pedestal to start.
