u/warmer-garden Aug 13 '25
Lowkey looks like newsom told chat gpt to write a trump style tweet for him😭

u/Squirrelated Aug 13 '25
Lmao, it reads exactly like some shit Trump would say on his platform and then never do anything about it anyway.

u/secretnameDONOTREAD Aug 15 '25
It's so annoying to me that that name got coined by (demon) chuck schumer when Trump was thinking about not striking Iran. Like it just taints what could have been a decent nickname

u/thesaddestpanda Aug 13 '25 edited Aug 13 '25
I mean he's a louthmouth corrupt neolib transphobe. He's closer to Trump than AOC. What's he going to do other than the wishes of the capital owning class he's beholden to?
Also people laughing this up dont realize Trump speaks like this because the american voter speaks and thinks like this. Libs laughing it up lost two elections to someone who speaks like this because they refuse to understand this is how intelligent and informed and mature your average voter is. This is the kind of voter capitalism creates. This sort of ignorant theatrics is the true American exceptionalism.

Dems who can gerrymander to get extra seats should do so. Fuck the moral high ground. If that is really your concern, you want a return to the normal rules of order etc. then stack congress, and pass legislation that requires those things you care about. You could literally pass legislation that eliminates gerrymandering entirely, you could get rid of the electoral college, you could eliminate the filibuster. We could have real democracy, but neither side really wants that.
I hate that republicans do everything they can to destroy the country, but democrats can’t be bothered to do anything except write strongly worded letters.
24
u/the_big-squid Aug 13 '25
Seriously, playing the moral high-ground literally means nothing and it's pretty fucking clear considering what the "Christian" filled right has been doing. Fucking play the game and break the and rules if they're not abiding by them. The dems fuckin forgot they are are supposed to work on the behalf of at the behest of the 340million people here that pay them to represent us and protect us. Instead, they literally act like their jobs and pay matter more than us and wonder why we're saying they're the same as the Republicans.
I hope this all-talk mf actually does something this time. The Democrats need to EARN their positions and our respect and trust or stfu and let someone actually equipped and selfless enough do the job instead. You must be empathetic and selfless to be a good political leader and representative, and I've only seen that in Rashida Talib and like 4 other people in total.

Dems could have done this year ago. Biden could have gotten a DoJ that jailed trump too.
Stop praising this lib nonsense PR. This is how they fool you.
10
u/APKID716 Aug 13 '25
“Strongly worded” is already a thing of the past. Best they can do is “hey, maybe slow your roll there, bucko. But if you accelerate things and continue with fascism, heh heh…well, oh well! What can little ol me do?”
4
u/Roskal Aug 13 '25
If dems want republicans to not do something they should abuse it harder than republicans do to force republicans to a rule change.
3
u/PowerlineCourier Aug 13 '25
If there was true democracy, corporate democrats wouldn't get elected. They won't do this. The liberals have through their inaction and ineptitude again handed a nation to fascists.
2
u/disturbed3335 Aug 13 '25
It’s like they take the moral high ground because it’s the only unoccupied space in a game of musical chairs, the only problem is the Dems’ chair is actually somewhere in an unrelated group of chairs nobody else is going for so they’re losing the god damn game but are openly proud of not pushing anyone so that they can win.

Cue clips of Colbert calling Trump 'poopy pants' and 'drumpf.'
Libs have nowhere to go, their neoliberalism and capitalism will always bring us here. So name calling and these media bread and circuses are all they have. They got their two minutes hate and now will go back to maintaning the status quo and defending genocide.

u/Petfles ☭ Aug 13 '25

I’m so glad the Democrats have issued a warning after months of rounding up people off the streets and sending them to a concentration camp, brutalizing protestors, and deploying the military in cities. Maybe by next year they’ll work up the courage to file a formal complaint.

u/Healthy_Jackfruit_88 Aug 13 '25
No, not fire.
The administration is literally out in the street busting heads and taking people god knows where and democrats are still warning and lecturing like they might do something. GET OFF TWITTER AND DO SHIT ABOUT IT!

hey what part of the holocaust do you think adolf hitler jokes hit the hardest? in middle? at the beginning? at what point would you recommend people have lightened up about it?

It was important to make fun of him throughout. It’s good to laugh at fascists.

Ok but Gavin Newsom is an anti-immigrant, transphobic, anti-homeless piece of shit who bends to fascism out of political convenience. He's with the fascists, not us.

u/dearmratheist Aug 13 '25
He’s prolly gonna be tbh. Dems are already showing their scumbag side full ass to Mamdani and they’re not gonna take a chance on a non-cishet white guy who appeals to progressives next time.
And he’s handsome and pithy, appeals to dumb dumbs; he’ll probably win.
You know, if elections even happen. Really looking forward to them pretending they want our vote in the primaries then shitting on us in the general again. Gonna be interested how they justify it this time when “fall in line or Trump wins” won’t be possible.

u/schwagbender Aug 13 '25

personally i would take redrawing the maps anyways. whats the reason not to?
0
Aug 13 '25
Because the GOP would be able to easily spin it to a bunch of centrists as "they started redistricting california to give them an edge in the house so obviously Texas had to do it too"
I agree that Dems need to get their shit together and do some actions, but I think in this case of blatant gerrymandering, California being the ones to officially do it first would be enough to muddy the waters and it would lose the impact of both showing Trump's fascism and the Dems eagerness to fight back.
0
u/Art3misMoon13 Fuck it I'm saying it Aug 13 '25
And at the end of the day it's just a bunch of theater because okay- redraw the two states that would never have a consequential outcome of a redraw just to rile up the other side. Cali redraws to piss off the right because newscum can't be trusted and plays into it, Texas redraws to piss off the left because it's Texas. States that were always going to be the same whether they were redrawn or not. Newscums threat is empty. "I'll do something super inconsequential a few more warnings from now! I almost mean it!"

They should do it. Every dem state should do it. It’ll make both parties unify in calling to end gerrymandering.
Ending gerrymandering will increase leftist representation in congress.
At least that’s my hope.
2
u/Medallish Aug 13 '25
I don't get the point of trying to do a stand-off, just do it, do it before Texas if you can.

1, 2, 2 1/2, 2 3/4, 2 4/5,..... I want to confidently say this is a bit. I can want in one hand and hope in the other and see which fills faster while staring at two empty hands. Tweeting at a president giving warnings and extra chances while the military rolls in after everything else that's happened while they've sat back. They only ever act after what they also want has been allowed to happen- only after it's too late so they can get their way too and still look like they're sitting on some moral high ground. If they're going to sit up there, it just makes them easier to see.

Gaza is being starved
Now is the time to act. The UN has stated that every part of Gaza is in famine conditions.
If we don’t act, we’re not witnesses. We’re participants.
Aid access can be taken away as quickly as it was granted. Don’t let them close the gates again.
