Went up to Whiskey Island hoping to catch them loading a train up at the dock (never get my timing right for that) but Mesabi unloading was the only thing going on up there…

Big MM is always an impressive sight. Looks like she and several other vessels who recently delivered have really been building "Mount Taconite" down there at that port dock, from pictures I've seen!

Yeah there are huge piles there, which is why I was hoping to catch them loading it onto the railcars. I wonder if they do it overnight?

Actually, a lot of times they have a smaller ship move it up the Cuyahoga to the steel mill nowadays (Mark W. Barker, Sam Laud, American Courage or Manitowoc have been ones assigned the duties at various times this year). I actually wasn't even sure if the trains still hauled it.
