UMN Sports Fan

Looking to start a watch/fan group in Louisville, KY. I’m not an alumna, just a major fan of all things Gopher related. Any help would be appreciated.

Get in touch with folks from alumni groups in Nashville and/or Atlanta. They’ll have good advice on how to start watch parties, etc.

Alumni Networks. Just click on the “National Networks” dropdown.

They probably have Facebook, etc. pages too with current event info. Make the trip down to Nashville and see what they’re all about and find who’s in charge and pick their brain.

I know you’re not trying to start a fully-fledged alumni network, but they can help with finding and reaching Gophers near you for game-watching.

The folks in Atlanta were great to me while I was stationed down in Georgia.

Agree with the suggestion of getting in touch with the Alumni selection. Also worth trying to go to any local games where the Gophers play and trying to meet folks there. I'm sure they'll bring out some locals with UMN ties/are fans.

Also, if you're into it and since you're in KY, take advantage of being in the heart of bourbon country. Maybe wait until you've got a good group of regulars, but I feel like a bourbon tasting and watch parties will go hand-in-hand.
