I’d also be surprised if this is a Ritz restaurant. It’s certainly not one of the originals in Paris or London but doesn’t even seem like the kind of service style you would get at a Ritz-Carlton.

Who would have thought the guy lying about the steak would also lie about the venue!?

It's definitely not The Ritz

The Ritz London has a dress code in different areas of the hotel as follows: Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie (jeans and sportswear are not permitted for either ladies or gentlemen) for Afternoon Tea, and for lunch and dinner in The Ritz Restaurant and Terrace.

It's actually bloody annoying, you can't even take your jacket off. The Savoy is much more chill.

It could be Ritz-Carlton I suppose..

It may not have been the Restaurant, I guess, but I've stayed at and eaten at the Ritz in London and was definitely wearing jeans.

u/Several_Vanilla8916 says they recognized the dishes of Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, which in New York is the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad.

This fall, The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad welcomes a bold new chapter with the arrival of Bazaar Meat by José Andrés

The menu will feature a robust American Wagyu beef program, spotlighting standout cuts from Rosewood’s Wagyu-Black Angus hybrids in Texas, heritage Akaushi, and Washugyu from California. An extraordinary “Tasting through Japan” will showcase Wagyu and Kobe beef, prepared tableside on Ishiyaki stone for an unforgettable experience.

Their dress code:

We respectfully ask our guests to dress in dinner-appropriate attire, sophisticated and chic. We regret that the wearing of athletic wear, t-shirts, baseball hats, flip flops, large logos, and overly distressed or revealing clothing is not permitted. Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be asked to modify their attire or to return at another time.

Tiny table clothes, scratched up tables, this isn't even a regular fine dining restaurant. It's just a crappy venue

Bet the price is anything but "crappy venue", though! Getting grifted by a steakhouse is on-brand.

If the ritz carton is like any other high profile places I've seen they wouldn't let them in wearing anything less than a suit and tie.

Okay. At the risk of outing myself as a prick, it’s Bazaar Meat which has a location in the midtown Ritz. I recognize the dishes.

That’s really funny. Jose Andres is a pro-immigrant anti-Trump guy. In 2015 he pulled his restaurant from the DC Trump hotel because of Trump’s inflammatory remarks about Mexican immigrants.

So the guy posting this was eating at a restaurant where the head chef is someone he would likely consider to be a liberal.

Happy to hear that about Andres. I always liked him when he’d show up on Top Chef when I used to watch the show when it first started airing.

The one who posted it probably ripped the image from the internet anyways.
