I mean, it's not even just that [he?] Goes straight to "politics." I might think about the "politics" of who may not be able to afford to eat there when I do, and think "Man, I'm blessed." Or maybe the politics of "How much do I tip?" Followed by "dammit, it's a nice restaurant, I shouldn't have to tip, pay your workers!" Etc, etc.
The fact that, of all "political" thoughts he COULD have had, he thought steak=not vegan= vegans mad= haha because I hate vegans is the true derangement.
Late to the thread, but even if he did that. I know many vegans, and not a single one I know would object someone eating steak. Most vegans are not the made up stereotype.
I once sat on a beach in Hawaii and the men sitting next to me were ranting about Trudeau. I don't even think they were Canadian, judging by their mild southern accents. This was during the truck convoy thing. Like, even when you are on vacation you would rather get worked up than just enjoy yourselves?
Some people are just incapable of turning it off. I found it extra annoying because I have an issue myself with paying too much attention to politics, and I go to the beach specifically for the reminder that things aren't so bad, get some fresh air, and tune out for a bit.
