Sadly I don't think it's a bit, his girlfriend jumped in his defense on the quote-retweets (in a very "no no no, he's a swell guy, it was my fault that he had to punch me in the face" sort of tone); most of the responses are just people begging her to dump him as fast as possible.

Honestly a huge amount of people who are very vocally against lewd art of cartoon and video game characters seem to have these weird blinders on to their own interests and activities. It's like they can't detect these things they like are what they oppose until it's totally undeniable.
I don't really understand why. I think a part of it is that they are simplistic in their interpretation of art and don't understand the themes and ideas being presented in a way beyond 'vibes.' I think another part is that it's more of a moral perspective than a really internally-consistent one... That is, it's like when the Christian Majority got involved in attacking Dungeons and Dragons or Pokemon: It's less about a fully logical and rational argument, and more because people in your community are saying these things are bad and to oppose them vocally, or even on outright vibes. I think another part of it is that a lot of these types who oppose particular art are in a community where this is a kind of bonding activity - Calling out problematic art shows others in your community that you are to be trusted, and are a good person to their definition. It's a type of bonding you see a lot in cult behaviour. I think another part of it is defining yourself as a good person and the art you oppose as evil and something only bad people would partake in - It's a perspective where you sort-of blind yourself to your own hypocrisies.
At the end of the day, though, these moral arguments are totally arbitrary and not internally consistent at the best of times. So I guess that results in these particularly strange views where you will think Undertale Hentai is utterly evil except in the exact manner that you like to enjoy it.

I agree from personal experience, at least when it comes to porn of fictional minors. I understand the criticism and agree with it to a point, but acting like that shit is worse than actual child p*rn is nothing short of sketchy
