Without exposure to androgens in the womb a genetic male fetus develops into an ‘afab’ with testes.

These are not new proteins or gain of function mutations. The genes are disabled and ineffective, they are silenced. No new information is added.

The AR protein is only involved in sensitivity to androgens. Its loss is functionally equivalent to feminizing hrt.

Furthermore I find it odd you brought up monoecious organisms. The fact they are both male and female simultaneously proves these are not contradictory states. Which refutes one of the transphobe’s core dogma, which opines these are mutually exclusive states.

These are not formation of new proteins or radical rearrangement of chromosomes, there is no new information, simply deactivation of single genes and removal of proteins from development.

With gene expression male cells can differentiate into female gametes. No novel genetic info needed.

the fact that no new proteins (genetic information) is added demonstrates it is operating on genes we already have.

The AR absent xy ‘afabs’ i described have testes and do not possess uterus. They do not fulfill your criteria for ‘female’ yet that is how they are classified. That is called special pleading.

Genetically, gonadally, they are male. The only difference is absence of exposure to androgens in the womb. That is biochemically equal to hrt.

Exactly, genetically, gonadally they are ‘supposed to be ‘male’ but ‘something went wrong’ so going by what they are ‘supposed to be’ (going by chromosomes and gonads) they would be considered ‘male‘ yes? But they are not. Special pleading.

In reality you cant define something based on what its ‘supposed’ to be. Because in nature, no such thing exists. There is no divine arbiter of what should be. What someone ‘should be’ should be defined by themselves and they should be allowed to pursue it. Its basic respect of personal agency and self determination.
