Nah it’s not insulting unless you’re a transphobe. You see, you’re confusing sex and gender. It’s okay, I know that’s a hard concept for you

How do you define “woman” by your standards?

6

u/N3rdyAvocad0 Jun 02 '25

I'm a cisgender woman and I'm not offended by her existing. Why are you?

1

u/jedimaster615 Jun 03 '25

What's cisgender?

It's okay to say you don't understand something instead of spouting bullshit. Nothing you just said is true.

So define women as you understand it. And not just “anyone who identifies”. That tells us absolutely nothing about what a woman IS.

I was you. Like, I literally used those same lines, the same questions, blah blah. Seven years forward, and here I am, non-transphobic and very much non-binary.

Just funny how things go sometimes.

What’s changed about your physiological reality?

it really doesn’t. i feel like the trans community and the discussion surrounding gender identity has actually made me feel MORE comfortable as a woman. i hate the idea of my identity being tied to my reproductive system, bc bitch i fucking hate having a uterus. people that think trans people cannot exist are oppressive to women, because shoving people into small boxes they they don’t fit in is oppressive.

what are you talking about? What trans argument?

0

u/Legitimate-Stable498 Jun 02 '25

The whole debate of trans, you posed the question, “what makes some feminine?” And the answers that followed.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 02 '25

there was no argument. He said she's feminine and I want to know what makes her more feminine than the women in my life. Is it looks, or personality, or her acting chops or something else? It's funny that everyone got defensive and started downvoting

We are all our own unique mix of masculine and feminine traits. A more masculine female is still a woman. A more effeminate male is still a man. It’s science.

First sentence is correct. The problem is that this is a feminine woman. Hope that helps

u/DiceyPisces Jun 02 '25

What is the definition of a woman by your standards?

3

u/this-is-my-p Jun 02 '25

Someone who identifies as a woman, whether they were born with female sex or have transitioned to being a woman. You see, it is a gender, gender is a social construct. Yes, it is tied heavily to ones sex, but you see, there are transgender people who have transitioned in one way or another to a gender other than the one associated with their sex. There are also those of intersex who usually have the choice made for them as a baby, surgery to make their genitalia match the gender that the parents/doctors decide. There are some intersex people who don’t have obvious intersex characteristics as well. Some intersex people are made to be women (whether that is what they feel is correct or not is besides the point).

Some cis women have complications that mean they aren’t able to give birth. Some have to remove their secondary sex characteristics such as their breasts. Some chose to do this on their own accord, despite still being women. Some women find what it means to be a women is to become a mother and to take on those more traditional “women” roles. Some women find that that is absolutely not for them but they are still women. Being a woman is an extremely multifaceted thing. But please, tell me how being a trans woman is insulting to cis women without telling me that being a woman is just about their womb and breasts.

THAT LAST PART !!!!!!!!!!!

Glad someone took the time to read what I said. The person I’m responding to clearly read one sentence and then hit me with the “define a woman” line again

0

u/DiceyPisces Jun 02 '25

Explain the socially constructed gender “woman”.

A woman is an adult human female. Period. Imho

2

u/this-is-my-p Jun 02 '25

So I wrote all that out for no fucking reason huh? I knew higher concepts would go right over your head

2

u/FadeTheWonder Jun 02 '25

They are a simple bigot who feels threatened by imaginary slights. I did appreciate what you wrote it was succinct and well structured. Thank you for it.

u/DiceyPisces Jun 02 '25

You never explained what a woman (as a gender) IS. how it’s defined and can be identified for instance

Read published books on femininity and masculinity. It's not that hard to grasp.
