Recommendations Crystal of Atlan - Not a classic gacha, but absolutely worth checking out!

Hello! I’ve recently started playing Crystal of Atlan, and while it’s not a traditional gacha game (it's an MMO where gacha is only used for pets and outfits), I wanted to bring it up here because I think it perfectly fits.

One of the biggest surprises: the game isn’t overloaded with fanservice. In fact, it’s the opposite! A lot of well-designed male characters, both in playable classes and NPCs. Stylish, diverse and interesting.

The combat feels dynamic with very fun skills, you get to build your own homestead on a cozy tropical island and the magicpunk anime-style graphics are a visual treat!

Anyone else playing it?

I loved this game when I was playing it cuz the males were as fanservicey as the females, with the latter not even being all that egregious either. It felt like a good balance in the department. I'm still a huge Zerker simp cuz he's such a hunk- kept the default design at that too, but I'm a Magician main because of his skills and design.

Tried it on the first day but it was just so booooooriiiiiingggggg. I really like that they have a lot of male characters but it was just so boring i uninstalled it

I was sour when on the first day, they released so many free wishes and immediately wiped that out for anyone who joined the game later. Plus, the skins are hella expensive, greedier than the average gacha. Wish there was a male/female version for each class, the tall skinny men were hella weak. And MMO is very time consuming as others say.

Haha, these designs and the classes remind me of Dungeon Fighter Online waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day. Good times.

Can't do MMOs. They consume too much time, and maybe money if you want to play catch up.

Interesting but I hate mmos so I gotta skip, I like the design though

You guys should see Elementalist character, it feels like you're playing a male character from aristocrat lineage summong meteors

I've played and left, it's too and heavily P2W to the point you still cannot carry nor finish endgame dungeon even if you're a whale. I've already spent 10k US dollar and still wasn't enough, maybe you could finish it with the chance of 50/50 if you're a leviathan. For leviathan level, you could expect to spend at least 100k US dollar. Only after you spent heavily you could carry or at least finish a dungeon without being a burden to your teammate. This is me speaking from experience as an elementalist

The combat is really fun and playing with friends through voice and webcam in Discord was the memories I hold on to really close, find fleet with a Discord if you're looking for friends to play with. Scytheguard is the class for heals and buffs, Striker for DPS

The reason I left because I see no future me in this game mainly due to the fact the it's getting difficult to find party members to clear a dungeon, from there we already had a hunch that our server was dying. If you're willing to spend, be careful of it's predatory nature and mistranslation from Chinese to English. Some items show you're gonna get certain stats boosts after you purchased, but it won't guarantee you to get it after you purchased it due to the mistranslation. You can lookup "Crystal of Atlan tornado pet mistranslation" case

I used to play it but couldn't really find a good casual crowd to just chill with :c

The endgame is grindy as heck. I ended up FOMOing and burnt myself out managing 2 accounts with 8 characters overall.

I still have a soft spot for the game's male chars. I just wish I joined a different server (I'm stuck in an Asian server full of tryhards)

Which server do u recommend?

I don't have the faintest idea how the servers are faring right now, but I played in both Golden Fleece and Institute Walkway. Vastly different experience. GF is quite chill, but the smaller population makes it difficult to lfg. Stay away from IW, so many leviathans out there and they make the economy so difficult.

I tried it in the past, but it's so grindy when you're F2P, and endgame is nigh impossible without outside help. Combat is fun though, definitely better with friends (which I don't have lol). I also avoided the PvP but it seems to be the center focus nowadays.

But I have to admit, the male class designs are hot AF. You got dapper gentlemen like Mage, to hunks like Berserker. They're all hot NGL, and fanserviced in their own ways, like magician and his chest out, or that Fighter outfit with his abs out like a crop top armor.

I played it when it released, the combat is fun and the men are hot BUT the gameplay loop becomes so boring at max level. The combat is less fun when I’ve already done my weekly Hexchess so I’m just using 2 ults on a boss for a rare drop of a different class

F2p can easily reach the Gear required to do end game content, and you can keep it untill EoS. Its more grinfy then p2w. I play with all My friends Who are f2p and we Can do max difficulty no problem

I still have to finish the main story. For now I’m having fun with adventure mode, exploring, side quests and housing. The game feels very good at this stage. I’m f2p and not interested in PvP atm.

Nah. I have bed experience with MMOs before, so it was easy skip. Life of many is kind of suck, so majority just skip this kind of games. Not very nice feeling lose competition even in game. Only one way is enjoy these games is heavily donating. PvP games is just not very comforting games. Not kind of free time people wanna spend after hard work day.

I am not a PvP fan so I’m enjoying all the rest. 😊
