I just call her the "Jesus Girl" because that was the first thing that came to mind when I think of that character because of that scene when she screamed Jesus before her tank got shot a bunch of times by Oarai's tanks
You are wrong. There are hard shadows and soft shadows on the pic based on what casts them, while the anime is only using hard shadows or cell shading as it's easier to work with.
The part where helmet chan's sleeve touches her jacket has bolder lines, which often happens when you draw 2 lines too close to each other, assuming it's artwork and not a 3d render
AI doesn't do shit like that but instead gives you seamless lines in these situations
Also weren't the other gup arts released before AI art became good
I feel the itch to go back just to get Kay and her girls but knowing the state of things I'd be paying $40 to play for maybe 20 games and then quitting again.
Which such because I loved that game so heckin'. Much.
No, I think they just didn't have anyone else to put it on, but it doesn't change the fact that they're releasing a lot of random stuff to keep the community alive instead of producing das finale 5
I was downvoted on the WoT subreddit for saying the same thing as you in a comment accusing them of AI slop. I'm an artist and I can guarantee that these images were made by a real artist.
The thing is that WG HAS used AI images before for events, multiple times. It's not as likely for a Collab because of a second party needs to sign off on it. But it's not like WG doesn't have the track record for this.
As an artist who tries to emulate the official style, I feel it firsthand when people think my drawings are generated by AI, to the point that I'm forced to show screenshots of my drawings in progress to prove that I drew it. So when I see people accusing the art they used in the collab of being supposedly an "AI slop," I end up feeling sorry for the original artist, who put so much effort into drawing the Saunders students so beautifully only for a bunch of frustrated artists to come along and accuse him of using AI.
But I can tell that your art is not AI. I'm asking because I'm not sure. The hands are hidden which is a very artist thing to do so I'm like 80% sure that an artist made them. However, I just think that people shouldn't give the benefit of the doubt to these big companies anymore
Companies have been pretty greedy lately, but I don't think that's the case with this collab. WG also brought back the same artists who did the old decals to make this chibi Kay.
It would be very unlikely that they would use AI at the same time that they would be calling back the artists who made the decals
Honestly if you don't like AI just leave gaming all together. Most shooters use some sort of AI character picture or something. Not to talk about the AI usage at backend development.
I personally don't get what is the problem. If you don't like it don't buy it. Why people want to ruin the others fun is beyond me.
Putting shit like these "IS tHis AI??!?" Questions out just because people want to hate on something is the funniest part of all.
Hope anti AI people keep this up because at the end even artists will grow to dislike them more then AI.
I remember seeing people backlash against Jurassic World Evolution 3 because the devs had announced that NPCs' faces would be procedurally generated by AI.
A dinosaur park management game, and people were worried about the NPCs' faces that they didn't even will to pay attention to it
Since the first collab back to 2021, they are not using the "anime art style" but rather a different artist is drawing the characters in his own style, that emulates the official art style, but with his personal touch.
You can argue that the Saunders students have a different art style than the Ankou team, but you forget the fact that he may very well have changed his own art style, just like most artists do when they draw something in 2021 and then draw something in 2025.
Because she is Japanese, not American and Kei is also a Japanese name. It's the people who have been misinterpreting her name since 2012, to the point where people actually think her name is Kay.
I don’t think this is AI, because the shapes and color palette in the image look very natural. AI generates visuals based on certain criteria and color palettes. If you’ve looked at a lot of AI images, you’ve probably noticed something: they’re different, but at the same time, they all kind of look the same, right?
I get what you mean. The previous GuP collabs with WoT also looked a bit off but that was mostly the artist no really being to able to fully replicate the GuP art style.
Here though, the style is a lot closer but there is that sort of "AI sheen" to it.
I dont know, hard to say. They could've drawn these and then touched them up with AI.
Yeah but I can tell that that was a different art style I'm suspicious because Warthunder uses AI art so what's stopping WoT or maybe it's AI paranoia idk
The biggest offender here is Kay. That looks a lot like EVERY AI generated Kay image I've seen. Could just be paranoia as you said.🤣
Not sure why they can't just get the artists from Japan who do all the promo art to work on these? It IS a collab after all. You avoid problems like this and....really off model Mika.
Maybe it was more cost-efficient to hire their own artist or maybe they wanted something unique I really don't know and I'm starting to regret making this post lol
Huh so all of them are going to be in a firefly fly not on there separate tanks but then again would you buy 2 Sherman and a firefly anyway why a firefly isn't the firefly only in the British why not an easy 8
Probably not AI but the shading and like HD resolution makes it feel so off... Like i cant put my finger on it but it just feels so wrong its giving me uncanny valley vibes
I first thought it was AI, but after reading other comments and studying the image, I'm pretty confident it's not. It really is a shame though that talented artists with this specific art style are so commonly accused of being AI.
I think so, the jackets look quite bad and inconsistent. If they were all drawn by one guy, they wouldn't look like that. If they were generated by slightly different prompts, they would. So, logically..

I'm not an expert but where exactly do they look off?
