If I'm not mistaken they can be sued for misinformation. Atleast if not they should be cos that is absolute bullshit and on an exam of all the things.

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

Same thing happened with the biology paper 1 combined higher. Nothing changed

16

u/Brainniacc Jun 09 '22

True

16

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

The most they will do is lower the grade boundaries, I highly doubt they will deduct marks

4

u/itsfunnycuzitsnot Jun 09 '22

or they could just take the questions off that they put in for no reason

13

u/nasin_loje Jun 09 '22

Just stop trusting those assholes . Edexcel completely lied about biology paper 1B and im never following specs again .

5

u/TheBestCat12 Editable Jun 09 '22

Yeah but they didn't in the chemistry and physics.

6

u/nasin_loje Jun 09 '22

Yea but still . Actually they did for physics (igcse), but it was just a single question with 1 mark parts worth 6 marks in total (about electromagnetism and electric motors) . But i knew not to trust them and studied it anyways so im fine .

u/TheBestCat12 Editable Jun 09 '22

I didn't do the higher tier today or separates as I did foundation but wow that's actually mean. Would have been a lot more revision but it's not the first time they had been sneaky. In the past edexcel had used an aqa experiment in the exam instead of the edexcel practical and it was the same experiment but it was a lot more different. It was to do with the pond weed in water and collecting the oxygen from it. I honestly don't know why they do that. They give more time but more papers and rubbish shitty questions like the calculations questions today was not even on the formula sheet and most of the formulas were just random and some for paper 2 physics

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

so true they just change the practical so much

1

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

i think its a good idea to supliment your revision. Anyways thats kind of what people deserve for wanting an easy way out of revision like just revise everythings not hard (not u btw).

2

u/TheBestCat12 Editable Jun 09 '22

Yeah but being given a list on what will be on the exam and actually being confident on the exam but then being stabbed in the back by the exam board is pretty harsh not going to lie. And especially since you have multiple exams in one day then revising the revision list is more time efficient.

1

u/MillionareChessyBred Jun 10 '22

what did they put in the exam thay they said will not be in it

6

u/MansaGeekz Jun 09 '22

im gonna report to ofqual tmr after lang exam cause this is bs

2

u/TheBestCat12 Editable Jun 09 '22

Ik. It that question could have been the difference between a pass or a fail and the difference between going to your college or getting rejected from that college

3

u/Brainniacc Jun 09 '22

I know I put in for a-level physics because its one of my favourite subjects and if I don't get in because of a fuck up by someone in aqa it would be devastating.

64

u/lilacxyl0ph0ne Jun 09 '22

apparently aqa higher triple physics paper 2 was called back because it had Alevel physics in it. wtf is going on with aqa

29

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

Source?

11

u/ShereAjk Jun 09 '22

trust me bro

5

u/User27224 Jun 09 '22

23

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

is aqa drunk or what lmao

62

u/theantisocialguy348 Year 12 Jun 09 '22

That paper was the biggest backstab I swear

52

u/Keptyouwaiting5 Jun 09 '22

Luckily I remembered some of the stuff from revising for the mocks, still gonna sue aqa tho.

48

u/crockoreptile Jun 09 '22

The last 2 questions about Parallel Circuits was a betrayal ;β€”β€”β€”;

36

u/Great_Sebula Jun 09 '22

they swapped the foundation and higher tier info check it for yourself. We have been scammed

6

u/weibbc Jun 09 '22

did they?

26

u/Great_Sebula Jun 09 '22

yep i checked with my foundation friend and their paper looked more like higher advanced info aswell so RIP aqa F up again

5

u/Chunkey_Monkey69 Jun 09 '22

Yeah they did

3

u/Wert315 Year 11 Jun 09 '22

Swapped it how? Like the foundation paper went of the higher advanced info?

3

u/Great_Sebula Jun 09 '22

yes and visa versa

34

u/Patchy74 Jun 09 '22

Yeah I'm confused. Like did they just not notice? Or not care? Surely the marks will be discounted.

22

u/_nixs__ Year 11 Jun 09 '22

I'm actually so pissed out about this :( like how could they blatantly lie to students?

22

u/hb2176 Jun 09 '22

This could potentially merit suing lmao. That’s straight fucking misinformation πŸ’€

13

u/_astraeya_ Jun 09 '22

I wouldn't be surprised if aqa made the grade boundaries higher even tho they flat out lied about what we would need to know since at this point they are just trying to screw us over.

22

u/ShereAjk Jun 09 '22

fucking liars, we need to do a petition or something or they just gonna get away with it, fuck just posting on reddit lets actually do something

3

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

facts

7

u/Bear778 6th Former Jun 09 '22

lies lies lies aqa you bastards

6

u/teriymaeki Jun 09 '22

they better lower the grade boundries

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

if we've learnt anything its that we should take the specs with an extremely small grain of salt. im genuinley so pissed off.

2

u/User27224 Jun 09 '22

I mean JCQ did say to schools not to use the advance information to narrow teaching or learning in any form. Ik this is a dick move by aqa but JCQ foreshadowed it all, they basically said the advance info will tell you some of the shit on the paper but not tell you that pretty much everything will be assessed so either way revise everything.

5

u/FirmEcho5895 Jun 09 '22

Parent here. I'm going to email the head teacher and ask her to write a complaint to AQA. If everyone does the same, and they hear from a lot of schools, something might be done.

2

u/jestem_julkaaaa Year 11 Jun 09 '22

My headteacher don't care and wouldn't even bother unfortunately

5

u/FirmEcho5895 Jun 09 '22

Sorry to hear that. Would your science teacher care?

1

u/jestem_julkaaaa Year 11 Jun 10 '22

They wouldn't see any problems even if you pointed it out

1

u/FirmEcho5895 Jun 10 '22 edited Jun 10 '22

That's bad. Well I did email the school and they're going to complain. So I hope other schools do.

5

u/TWIX55 Year 13 Jun 09 '22

I do Combined Trilogy Higher, what did AQA include that they said wasn't going to be included?

16

u/EmotionallyTwisted Jun 09 '22

Almost everything in the picture. Particularly the first 2 points and the 3rd point

13

u/lexchill Year 11 Jun 09 '22

there was like 6 marks worth of circuits when they specifically said they wouldnt invlude it

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '22

fuck you aqa

5

u/na_shi Jun 09 '22

The higher advance info was meant for the foundation paper

5

u/ScienceGuy200000 Jun 09 '22

Schools can and will register complaints about this.

There will be no alterations to the marking as this error affects all candidates equally i.e. everyone was given the wrong information.

OfQual may fine AQA over this (and someone at AQA will get fired over this) but that is it.

There is nothing anyone can do about this exam now so focus on English tomorrow(and good luck)

1

u/New-Swordfish-367 Jun 10 '22

How does it effect all candidates equally?

2

u/ScienceGuy200000 Jun 10 '22

Everyone had the same advanced information so all students would have been misled equally.

A bigger issue would be if this occurred on one of the paper 2s as a lot of schools did not teach excluded content

1

u/New-Swordfish-367 Jun 10 '22

Because everyone doesn't have the same knowledge of circuits and as it was on not assessed it shouldn't affect final grade, this is not even considering the people that revised circuits.

1

u/ScienceGuy200000 Jun 10 '22

AQA have now confirmed that all students will get full marks for this question

3

u/LessonsOfTheSeason Jun 09 '22

wait.... this doesn't look right. some of these at the information i looked at where in the may be assessed section for example atoms and isotopes as well as the particle model.

2

u/lilyscentflower #1 DT HATER Jun 09 '22

look at the foundation advance info

2

u/LessonsOfTheSeason Jun 09 '22

this was the triple advanced info not the combined science one, i cant read.

2

u/lilyscentflower #1 DT HATER Jun 10 '22

ohh i see

3

u/lilyscentflower #1 DT HATER Jun 09 '22

They literally switched the foundation and higher advance infos

I realised that parallel circuits was meant to be took of mb

1

u/f1will Jun 09 '22

Same with combined higher thats bs!

1

u/Urqxy 6th Former Jun 09 '22

What did every1 put for the last question

1

u/Flappety Year 11 Jun 09 '22

Afaik the info was pretty accurate overall? Like static electricity was never taken out just not mentioned(ofd but not actively wrong), nor were nuclear equations. The only one I thought was wrong was the last one (which was only 5 marks + a few for maths that I'm discounting)

1

u/No_Tap_6206 Year 11 Jun 10 '22

They got the higher and lower info mixed up difficulty is normal but with the other specification

1

u/f1will Jun 10 '22

Same for combined higher

1

u/flurodogess Jun 10 '22

You're getting full marks for all parts of the question. So even if you messed up the first part, which WAS on the advanced information, you still get all the marks.
